Posted: 22:30 - 28 Aug 2009 Post subject: Aerox speed issue PLEASE HELP! |
 |
|
Hi all,
I have just bought a 2002 yamaha aerox which has a viper sports exahust, kevlar belt and 6g rollers all installed by the previous owner. However the bike only hits 38mph on a flat but can do 70 with ease down a hill. When i hit about 50 down a hill i can feel the next power band come into play and the bike takes off.
Is there any wany i can make the last power band come into play on the flat so i can get more flat speed? I want to be able to do at least 45 on a flat.
Any help appreciated!

Hi all thanks for the replies,
How do you check that the belt is worn im a newbie to this?
I know how to get at the belt i just don't know how to tell how worn it is?
Also, it is a 50cc and the clock only goes to 50mph but we got 70mph from the gap between where 50mph is on the clock and where the needle ends up.
Also, the rollers are heavy at 6g. ____________________ "When the flag drops the b.s stops"

it wont do 70, so dont worry..your speedo tells lies.
You could try running it hard and then pulling the spark plug, if its all shitty and black, or horribly white, your mixture/carb could do with some sorting.
Im not sure how to check belts as ive never owned a moped, but some guys here are ace at it.
Dont expect it to do 70, hell dont even expect 50...its meant to do 30, and as your sig say your 16...legally you arent allowed over 31mph?
But hey! Check your carb |

The faster you go, the more inaccurate your speedo will read... Especially if it's out of it's working range. ____________________
