Anyone had their bike impounded?

Just wondering if anyone on here has ever had their bike impounded for dyno testing cos the copper who pulled you over thought it might not be restricted and yet somehow knew you were on a restricted licence?

I did hear a story on here of somebody who had their bike dynoed, and they were (luckily) 33bhp restricted.

Its a big risk TBH. When I passed my test no copper knew about the law (it hadn't been in force for all that long) but nowadays it seems they are a lot more clued up on it.

Few years ago I got stopped by a bike cop. I was 17 and on a ZX6R, the cop thought it was the biggest bike I could ride until I was 21.

Remember something on here about someone whose bike got taken away for not being restricted, but he'd admitted at the roadside that it wasn't restricted which is kinda shooting yourself in the foot.

Don't admit anything.

It can be done, not worth the risk though as well it'll be quite a big thing as it's not a simple "Oh I forgot officer" it's in knowledge riding something that goes against your license'

i treated my restriction like a birthday, when it came off, was like a present..and glad it did come off, was worth the wait..would you rather

-have an accident n restricted bike, get the legal cover and compensation...

Fair enough, it should have been stated though lol.

But i think what Doug should realise here is that its not worth the risk. Loads of people get away with it everyday, but then again, there are a few that get collared and screwed cos they knowingly broke the law.

And Doug, its very rare you will get a little Hitler of a copper, as long as you are nice and polite you shouldn't get any bad attitude crap from them.
