A few weeks ago I was in an accident wearing a Caberg Trip helmet, and all I can say is: Avoid this helmet like the plague!
As soon as I hit the ground, the flip front popped completely open, exposing my face. Luckily, I then slid on my back, but had I gone on my front I could have torn my face to shreds; or worse still, the open lid could have been caught be something and jarred by neck back.
I was lucky in this instance, however, I think that a helmet that comes open so easy is of no use to someone in a motorcycle accident.
Just passing on the sentiment! |

Sorry to hear you had a bad one timmyhigh, however I have also recently crashed while wearing a Trip- head on with a car, slowish, but ended with me over handlebars and head into the road before coming to a stop. My Trip helmet served me great.
It fitted very well, and at £110 was well worth the money in my view - infact I will have no issues in replacing the Caberg Trip with another.
I'm sure there will be many more along soon to give other views, in favour of and to argue against open, flip up and full face helmets - but I think in any given incident due to all the variables that will always be present, there will always be a case where whatever the design, a helmet may not perform as expected. ____________________ CBT June 09 - Kymco KR 125 July 09 -> Sept 09.
