Yesterday, my OH was approached by our neighbour who deliberated came over to tell us some bad news.
At 04.00, he had strolled out of his house for a casual smoke. He noticed that 2 young lads were hovering around our drive. Upon hearing/seeing my neighbour, they just casually walked off. Neighbour advised that we should double check the security on our bikes.
Upon checking, OH had noticed that the chain had been tampered with. There was an obvious cut on the chain, from the attempt of it being sawn off.
We both slept downstairs with the windows open, torch and bat ready....but they did not return last night. We suspect that they might leave it for a few days and try again.
Unfortately, we don't have a garage but our bikes have alarms and both chained to the wall. Is there any other security measures? ____________________ Meet the team that will win, Blade, Razor, Blazer and my personal assistant, Michelle and from Romanovia - Fran Stalinovskovichdavidovitchsky

they can't be very good chains if they're manually sawing through them TBH.

Get a light thats triggered by activity. Wire it into a buzzer by the bed.
Or one of the rape alarms fitted under the seat and triggered when the bike is moved by some fishing line tied to a wheel.
Often the more homemade the better, as they wil be looking for all the usual stuff.
Even down to just a flashing led fitted by the clocks, may just be enough for them to move onto the next one, as they won't want to trip a alarm. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

Buy a security light with a PIR sensor and remote unit. We had one a while back - when the light comes on the unit (which you just plug into any socket in the house) gives an alarm. Works on the same principle as a baby monitor. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

A (real) dog works wonders, bonus points and prizes for particularly big scary ones, it's quite common for phones and keys to get dropped when they go fence hurdling ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |

Park the bike on a rubber mat, take a discreet wee wire from the battery positive to the chain. At some point the perp will touch the chain and the frame simulataneously, they will then have a real shock!
