 |
|
The commity that runs the TT Races has decided in the 400cc race is not worth running and is not well supported. I personally was planning on racing in the TT next year, 2005, in my RVF400 and would ask for you help and support in emailing the relevent people to try and get the races back on.
Contact email addresses are:-
david.cretney@dtl.gov.im (He's the minister for Tourism)
specialevents@gov.im (Based at the grandstand)
mmcctt@manx.net (Manx Motor Cycle Club)
Please can everyone email their views to these addresses ASAP, and let's see if they can change their decision!!!
Let try to keep the 125/250 and 400's in the TT. I am part of a group trying our best for the sport, we have the support of the Gary Dynes Foundarion and top TT rides like John McGuiness, Dave Madsen-Mygdal and Richard Britton to name but a few.
Please help

Thanks for the info - I'll get mailing now!
As my other half said last night, how come they get rid of the smaller bike classes coz they 'don't represent what's on the roads' yet they keep sidecars?!
I don't have a problem with them keeping sidecars, by the way, it's just that they seem to be making changes for the sake of change. |

Actually,
IMVVHO;
400s are not relevant to other bike classes in club racing, or bikes that are corrently sold on the road. I would say (as uninformed about the TT as I am) that a 125 class is relevant, as is a 600 and 1000 class, and a supertwins/sound of thunder type class.
No japanese manufacturers make 400cc sportsbikes any more, and neither do they make 250cc two strokes.
This is the difficulty with the TT, and I have heard it mentioned before that it should be made more relevant to existing club racing/ popular road bike classes.
Just a thought... ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F
Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |

oh and I can see the 400s and 250s being moved to the Manx Grand Prix, which is a late August event...watch it happen, it'll fall into place rather nicely indeed. |

My comment it that the 400s are out there in Bemsee club racing - both for Rookies and Supersports, however, now that the Japanese restrictions have ended thus virtually removing the main push for 400s I can see that the racing isn't sustainable.
I can also see why they wouldn't get that many 125 entries for the long TT circuit - but there's plenty of club racing opportunities at this cc.
It's a shame that Alistair can't race what he wants in the class he wants but maybe take a peek at another class or a support race?
Still, I'll email them anyway... no harm trying
Nice response there sv_cath - good one. ____________________ www.bikegirl.co.uk |

THhanks for your support, please do email, their is still a chance we can get it back on and I can race at the TT next year.
Two points, Kawasaki still make the ZXR400, and Honda, Aprilla and Yamaha still make both 125 and 250 Grand Prix machines new as well.
Please look at my RVF's and you will see we are not talking 10 year old nails , these are very well updated 400 machine, my new race bike make 81bhp, as much as a 600 a few years ago.

Thanks again for your comments, a lot more informed than Visordown!!
