If so, when's the best time to buy. It's an idea I'm toying with. I suspect an enduro bike would be better, but are the prices affected as much by summer/winter as road bikes?

I think off road bikes usually go up in value towards/during winter as thats when a lot of road bikers turn to off roaders for commuting or green lane fun whilst the ducati's on paddock stands in the heated garage...

From watching prices recently, prices for this type of bike has risen by a huge amount, long gone are the days when you could pick up a tidy xr 250 under a grand unless you get very lucky.

Have you seen the amount of bidders for machines like this Shocked

63 for a old xr 400 , price sold "£1230. 00 and it was NOT nice Wink

The word has got out, off roading/ green laning has amassed a huge following of late, most of the riders in our club simply got pissed off with the busy roads// speed traps etc etc, before falling in love with the "dirty" side , its a bit more than addictive Cool
