Does anyone know a good way to invest £900 with an almost guaranteed profit?

If illegal, don't go too far like dealing heroin, I'm thinking something that won't get me locked up for 5 years or more Confused

We invested a semi large sum in a 3 1/2 year plan with a quartered 5% return minimum. Shares have gone down a little but not too fused as will get more money at the end of the day and when they go up, the greater the interest we get.

£900 isn't going to make much in 12 months on anything risk free.

Generally speaking, degree of risk is proportional to return.

So stick it in a savings account, you'll probably get 5% if you're lucky but your money is safe.

Bet it on a 100 to 1 shot on the Grand National, you'll probably loose the lot but could win a fortune.

Overall, sensible option is probably to buy a cash ISA but you aren't going to be driving round in a Bently this time next year.

Slightly less sensible option, premium bonds. You'll probably find yourself in exactly the same position this time next year but there is always a chance you could win a million pounds. (Beats the lottery anyway, you get your pound back).

Those premium bonds are useless, I get them bought for me at Christmas by my Grandparents and I've never seen a single penny of it Confused

If by shitbar you mean solid weed, sput, whatever you call it, no one smokes it where I live. I was thinking growing some plants and selling them as plants instead of dealing, not as risky. I can't be arsed dealing anyway so rule that out

Regular bank savings accounts are usless at the moment, next to no interest. To get a reasonable rate it'll have to go into an ISA, check moneysavingexpert for the best account rates.

Look through the Money section in a newspaper like the Times on Sunday, they usually have lists of the best Fixed Rate yearly funds available. Though you might have to add a further £100 to your lump to get one, as some need a minimum of £1,000.

I found one last June, at 7.2% and only wished I'd bunged more money in than I did!! Ah well, you live and learn.

The closest you can get is to make it up to £1,000. Open a Halifax reward account.

Transfer in the £1k at the start. Get £5 reward.
During the month transfer out, and then back in the £1k.
Get £5 reward the next month.

One year on (and a lot of transferring) you'll have made a whopping £60.

As for premium bonds, i've had £25/month for the last few months.

A total of £1250 over the last 15 months from £15-30K in there.

The 'interest' rate on premium bonds has actually increased by 50% this month. Thumbs Up

Go to a carboot sale/auction house/aladdins cave. Look for some shit ugly gold jewelery that's cheap. Barter them down even more, then send that all off to the gold people and your should get a lot more for it that what you paid.

My Mother in law sent a handful of her broken gold stuff and got £172 back.

Earlier this year I brought £1000 of shares in the Bank of Ireland at £1 a share. Sold them just over a month later at £2.23 so doubled my money in a little over a month. But share dealing is a big gamble.

More recently I've brought more shares, again £1000 worth, but they are now down to about £750. Sad
