HB, don't know best place for a disc, but the battery drain can usually be found using a multimeter.Make sure the ignition switch is off and keys out.Charge the battery up and connect the positive lead up to the bike, then select the amps range on the meter and place one meter lead on the negative batt terminal and the other on the bikes negative lead. You should see preferably 0.00 amps being drawn with the ignition being off. For a car a max of 0.05 amps is allowed, so a bike should see any more than 0.03 amps max I would imagine.Let's say you've got a 0.50 amp drain on this test. Now pull the fuses one by one until the drain drops to below the threshold - when it does you've isolated the offending circuit. From here you can then re-fit the fuse, and disconnect components on that circuit until you've found your drain. Remember to move the wiring harness around to incase you have a partial short in the loom.Hope this helps. [/list] |
