Looks nice - Like the idea of the shaft drive - not sure about all of the fuss over the new V4 engine though.

TBH wouldn't swap for my Gixxer at this moment - maybe in a few years time...

Petrol tank : 22.0litres(800) -> 18.5litres(1200).
18.5litre is too small for 1200cc tourer don't you think?
Even versys has 19.0 litres.

Well, I'm happy with my Moto Guzzi Norge thank you very much!!

If I wanted a sports tourer, would have kept my VTR!!

Must admit though, when I heard of a 1200 VFR earlier this year, I did start thinking that it might be exactly the bike for me.

Shame it ain't as comfy as a Guzzi - which is why the Mrs ended up choosing the bike.*

I've been very interested in this bike over the last couple of years. Supposed to be all things to all men. Well, what a let down:

Wheelbase: 1545mm (way too long)
Kerb Weight: 267kg (267!!)

170bhp and bags of torque, a big chunk of which will presumably be gobbled up by the shaft drive.

Lovely single sided swingarm and wheel obscured by the world's most hideous exhaust. Aprilia know how to make a big exhaust like that look reasonably decent, Honda clearly do not. A stock VFR750 can would look much better!

I bet the engine's an absolute peach but it looks to have been put in a barge of a chassis, that's much more a replacement for the Blackbird than it is the VFR800.

I'll still have a go though

I heard rumblings in certain media circles, that this new vfr is a supposed replacement for the 1300 pan. I'm sure i read it in MCN so probably all made up.

Hi

It had better be a decent bike to ride as they won't sell many based on the styling. It is pretty hideous.

Not sure on the weight. Sure sounds heavy but that is a kerb weight, and it could just be that they are being more honest about it. After all a 1200 Bandit was a claimed 211kg dry. Add about 23kg to that for fuel and oil and it is catching up, and how accurate are any of the weight claims.
