I found it pretty funny, that the book about the car costs $4500.
Some interesting labour intensive engineering in there too though. ____________________ colin1 is officially faster than god |

I'm aware of how the milling process works, colin1. I was merely commenting on the relative inefficiency of it: that's a lot of material to be cast aside. While I know that it'll be recycled, the amount of energy used to recycle it would be very high; ergo, it's a pretty energy-expensive process.
Most of the milling I've done has been only to refine the shape of pre-existing aluminium objects, not doing it from scratch, so I was unaware of just how much material is 'wasted' in the initial cutting. ____________________ '10 SV650SF, '83 GS650GT (it lives!), Questionable DIY dash project, 3D Printer project, Lasercutter project |
