 |
|
I'm thinking of buying the missus a necklace as a pressy from Amazon. The online shop has very good feedback so I don't envisage any prob's there, but it's more than I've ever spent online before - (£500). Does anyone see any drawbacks in this or is anyone in the jewellery business who could have a look and tell me just how much I'd be getting ripped off?
Or better still, has anyone got any discount references I could use to get the price reduced!?

Excellent, well please don't reply with any bad news now! I've just got myself approved with the Amazon credit card and purchased it with that!
9 months interest free shopping and £15 off the 1st order can't be bad, just need to stick that card under the mattress and pay it off over the year without worries.
This stuff is just too easy to do these days... ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.

So I ordered the item on Thurs 15th Oct, it says 'In Stock' on the webpage and I also pay extra to have it delivered within 1-2 days.
Come the following Wed's, 21st Oct, I receive an email from Amazon stating the item has been shipped by UPS, providing a tracking reference number. So I chase UPS, only they say the tracking number is wrong... there's 8 digits missing off the end of it! I phone the sellers direct (in Italy) and they tell me the item is made to order and wouldn't be ready for shipping until the 22nd Oct, so I should receive it on Friday or Saturday. They also say they don't know anything about the email from Amazon...
Well I'm getting worried, my anniversary is next week and we're going away on Sunday so I need to have it by then.
I email Amazon asking for an explanation and at the very least a refund of the p&p costs, why should I pay extra for a 1-2 day delivery when it takes a week before the item is even sent out! I get a completely unhelpful reply ignoring the refund question, saying it's not them who sent the email out with the UPS info and saying I should contact the seller... in spite of me already putting in the email to them that I'd spoken to the sellers.
Now come to today. I'm concerned when I'll get this item so I contact the sellers in Italy again to get a tracking number and find out where the item is. Only they haven't sent it out yet... apparently it's still being made and they expect to receive it today, to the send on to me, for Monday or Tuesday next week. AAARRRGGGHHHH!!
I phone Amazon this time, and how nice - get to speak to someone in the Philipines! She's completely unhelpful, telling me it's not them but the sellers that I need to deal with. No amount of remonstrating helps and the pauses before she speaks again just get longer. So I ask to speak to someone in the UK, you never know I might find someone with a personality this time! But she just tells me to ring the same number again and this time I'll get through to someone in the UK...eh!?
I haven't bothered yet, I'm considering just cancelling the whole effing thing. My only concern is losing any money on P&P's etc. I've also taken out an Amazon credit card with this which I'm thinking of cancelling too. God I'm mad!
Anyone had any successful dealings with Amazon in getting refunds etc? ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.

I have never used them but always been weary of them. I wont be now for sure! Thats totally wrong that. I would be livid to with them. For big purchases like that I would get in a Jewellary store that way if it breaks you can bring it back and dont have to wait on it being delivered or lost etc.
ps nice to see a man actually getting a women something nice and making an effort I get feck all. ____________________ All the breast.

When market sellers say "1-2 day delivery", it DOESN'T include the time it takes them to dispatch the item ____________________ Current: Suzuki RG 125 Gamma, Honda H100, Triumph Tiger 800XC, Suzuki SV650 (minitwin) |

I'm just pissed coz when it says 'In Stock' and 'Delivered in 1-2 days' on the same page, and that page is an Amazon website page. You'd hope that a) Amazon are actually responsible for the information on that page, and b) it might actually mean what it says!
And Dragonfly, sorry to hear you get feck all... give us your address and I'll send you some flowers! ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.
