 |
|
Looking at getting a ZX7R in the next few months.
Reason I have settled for one is that I really like the styling and 'feel' of the 400, and I am assuming (rightly/wrongly?) that the ZX7R will be similair in feel - Albeit larger?
Any advice on what to look out for?
Cheers guys ____________________ What restriction? |

commonly known as the mobile torture rack,
for what they are, and there age, they handle superbly, if a little (ok alot) on the hard and uncomfortable side,
more than enough power, nothing compared to the new 1000cc bikes of today, but still good,
as for the styling, i thought mine was gay, and im not really a fan of green bikes, but if you like it then sweet
a good all round road bike really ____________________ the humans are dead

Rubbish bikes. Tell you what, buy one and then swap it for my zx6
One of the best looking bikes ever made, IMO, been a few good articles about then in magazines of late.
Imagine it will feel a lot heavier than the 400, but great bikes ____________________ https://www.timhastingsracing.co.uk/

What he said. You need to grab hold of a 7R and show it who's boss, but I had a ZXR400 as my first bike then went to a ZX7R and don't regret it at all. I've had two 7Rs and for me they are an excellent bike.
A test ride is in order. When I first had mine it was so uncomfy that I could barely walk after 50 miles, but after putting in the miles I got used to it and could easily cover 400 miles with no major problem.
The engine is not particularly torquey, but coming from the 400 you will still find it incredible for a while. The front end is very confidence inspiring too. Plus they are one of the best looking sports bikes of the 90s, and for how much they go for an absolute bargain. Mine was also perfect for touring for me.
Whoring time:

EDIT: When you're looking at them have a good look at the downpipes (hopefully find one that's had stainless replacement) as they rot very quickly. The front calipers can be expensive to refurb and need to be looked after so make sure they're not binding. ____________________ Current: ZZR1400
