Speedfight 100 '98

Hey guys, bought a speedfight 100 to get me back on the road.
Feels a bit sluggish though for a 100 and top speed is around 52mph just wondering if it should be higher than that its done roughtly 18000miles maybe 20000.

Top speed should be around 65mph.

Lol shut up smart arse, i've never had anything automatic past 50cc, thought it should be around 65ish, bet its mixture isnt set up propperly.

Could of been mauled with then put stock, you never know, It doesnt smoke much which is quite worryinng and has used quite alot of petrol in the past day (already on half a tank).

probably needs a belt and rollers TBH! You do know that a std SF100 only does about 54mph, and this is 90kph/56mph indicated on the speedo. You will not get much more than 60mph on the clock even down hill!

The std bike has definately not got a restriction in the variator, if had one apart several times. You might want to change you belt and rollers if they are worn, as you can loose 5mph+ from worn parts.

When i first start it, and try to set off, it floods the bike and i have to wait a few seconds until i can restart the bike too.

That sounds like it might be the auto choke sticking on, or dirt in the carb etc? It's worth stripping and cleaning the carb. Get yourself a belt and roller's if they have not been changed in the last 3000-4000km, as they never last longer than that from my experience.

If it get's close to an indicated 58-60mph after that, then it's running as well as a brand new example!

A decent pipe and set up will add about 5-6mph on the flat and downhill, but it's not going to make it a genuine 65mph+ bike.

Mine had nearly 12bhp, and would sit at 115kmh/72ish mph, but in reality it was about 68mph. It also had terrible standing start acceleration, and broke a drive belt within 1500km, and seized once i had upped the compression ratio.

I got it running reliably eventually, but it had pissed me off so much by this time and cost me £££'s, that i was very happy to see it go!

Do a proper test. Note down your mileage when you next brim the tank, ride, then brim the tank again and note the mileage and the amount of litres you put in the bike.
