Hi,

Sat with my daughter looking for a pair of leggings for her on Ebay. On one pair, the description included:

VERY VERY SEXY 3/4 LEGGING !!!

These are simple yet very sexy !

You WILL look and feel great in these !
They are soft and fit beautifully and deliciously comfortable.
THESE ARE VERY POPULAR - FOR A REASON !

These are ideal for attracting attention Smile

Now bearing in mind that these are aged 9-10 yrs, am I being an old duffer in thinking that isn't on?

Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thumbs Up Karma

Not on at all, who are they trying to attract, the local paedo community?

Sadly its the way of the world nowadays.
On the one hand we have hysteria concerning paedo's, yet on the other some parents seem to be unconcerned that their pre teen daughters dress almost like prostitutes.

Agree, at that age kids should not be aiming to look sexy at all. The description is completely inappropriate for the age group their trying to sell to.

Not at all. I have a 9 year old daughter and there's no way I'd be happy about her trying to 'make herself look sexy'! Not how you sell clothes to young kids! Shocked

Its very true in fact one of my sisters friends (when she was 11 or so) had a mother who was so overprotective that to walk home from our house in the dark me or my dad had to be with her; or she would get a lift (talking 500 meters maybe on quiet residential area).
Yet she also allowed, and probably encouraged her to dress in these so called 'sexy' clothes. Its insane.

To be honest the company selling them is probably just trying to make them sound more appealing.

If they put, "good quality leggings" instead of "sexy" then would you have bought them.

If there is a picture, judge for yourself.

Hmm, not sure you are getting the point. The item themselves, I couldn't really care less about. They are just leggings to me. She has just bought a glittery dress out of her savings and wanted some leggings to go with it.

Should people pitch listings at this level knowing full well that no 'normal' 9 year old goes onto Ebay and actually makes purchases. In most cases it is via a parent who probably isn't keen on overtly sexual references when thinking of 'Daddy's little princess'. Smile

It's disgusting.

I detest the way some kids dress these days, it's horrific. It makes you wonder what kind of people there parents are to let them wander out of the house with a skirt that barley covers there arse.

I'm 20 and I have had those horrible moments where you glance at a girl from behind think "I could hang out the back of that" only to realise as you wander past it's a girl barley 15 years old.

If only all parents were like you instead of allowing kids to dress like strippers and tarts.

Report it to ebay, An 11 year old girl should not be buying clothes described as sexy. Young girls, my daughter is 12yrs old, want to dress older like the pop starts, but there is a limit. That is where parental guidance comes in. My daughter has childrens versions of the sexy out fits, when I say childrens version what I mean is instead of a low cut top with diamonds on she has a t-shirt with diamonds on, her jeans may be 3/4 length but the are not skin tight hipsters, but fit properly around the waist. She has make up but only at the week end and only really wears it when she goes out shopping with me. If I think something is wrong then she doesn't get it, if something has sexy anywhere near it then I walk away.

As above, report it to ebay for innappropriate content or whatever, they probably won't do anything because they only care about their profits and plenty of parents and 10 year old kids want to buy 'sexy' outfits, takes the piss though.

Buy her a Burka, tell her they're all the rage Wink

I too have a 9 year old daughter, she doesn't dress like a slut, i wouldn't consider ever buying her 'sexy' clothes because she is just a kid.
FFS, childhood doesn't last very long in the scheme of things, why the fuck would any self-respecting parent want to shorten it by allowing or encouraging their daughter to dress 'sexy'??
Let kids be kids.

Indeed, 'playboy' stuffon kids I've never got - so many parents are happy to dress their kids up with merchandise that is effectively reflecting 'sex workers'.

I'll add makeup to that. A pre-pubescent girl does not need makeup. I know of a woman who, in her Christmas photos sent out to friends, heavily made up her 3 daughters (aged about 3-7) and painted the nails of her 6 month old baby. That is just plain retarded.

It annoys the crap out me that parents allow their daughters to walk around looking like hookers.

It's a pair of leggings. An item of clothing which is the female equivalent of my tatty tracksuit trousers I use for lounging on the sofa in.

If you're going to report the advert, report it for being misleading.

Fully agree on this point! It's sick having young girls running around with a porn symbol all over their clothes! We're not alone on this one... A vicar in York accused Heff of essentially grooming underage girls into his porno empire! Read here
Telegraph wrote:
The Reverend Tim Jones, 40, said the pornography empire deliberately aims the bright pink pencil cases and note books, branded with the distinctive bunny logo, at young girls...

he decided to take a stand and threw the offending merchandise from shelves in the York branch of Stationery Box

Personally, I find it more confusing than annoying.

I don't know whether to offer them money or sweeties.

I reckon they just used the same marketing hype that they use on ads for leggings for older people.

https://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW!-Sexy-Black-Lace-3/4-Tights/Leggings-***FREE-P&H***_W0QQitemZ280406723766QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20091008?IMSfp=TL091008147001r4589

see what I mean ?

You could always email the seller to suggest they remove the sexy references on items intended for the under 12s.

Yes, nothing wrong with girls wearing leggings, but I think the main point is the fact they're being advertised as 'sexy' in the under 10's girls clothing category. The word itself doesn't belong there, the item is both misdescribed and contains innapropriate language.

No thats not on and I wouldnt buy something that was suppose to make a 9 year old sexy, 9 year olds should not dress sexy or know what the word means.

I seen kids fecking pole dancing the other day on youtube and a pole dancing dole. And I cringe seeing kids in playboy gear, having a 9 year old in a playboy tracksuit is not even on in my eyes. Dorty dorty dorty! pedo food!

kids have very little innocence left now.
