Forza 3 - What do you think?

Well I bought my copy today and played it for a few hours, here's what I think:

Cars

There are sooooo many I can never decided what to use. They have some of the most awesome cars like the Veyron, Reventon and even things like the E30 M3. They handle pretty well, there is a lot of detail in this as well. For example when my little Fiat 500 was doing 100mph+ on a banked bend it got really twitchy The only thing is that some of the cars don't sound too great. For example the Ferrari FXX sounds a bit fake, it sounds much more like the real thing in PGR4.

Tracks

Bloody amazing. Stuff the Nurburgring, fujima is where its at! Some of the roads are things that you could only dream of. The attention to detail and graphics are very good. I haven't really tried the proper tracks apart from Valencia.

SP mode

The usual, a little boring. I tell you what though the AI fight back A couple of times I had to do the rewind thing because the AI car spun me off the road.

Modifying

You can either do auto upgrade or choose it yourself. Auto upgrade is shite in my opinion because it chooses rubbish mods (you can check which mods it will add). You get better results by modding yourself. Some of the mods are quite expensive too

In all I'm quite happy with it and should keep me entertained for quite a while

I agree with you about the auto upgrade, it's crap. For example auto upgrade something like the Fiat 500 and it will give you wider wheels and tyres, when what you really need is more power to keep up with the pack. Same with some of the 4WD cars. It will put better tyres on which you don't really need, and the PI increase could have been spent on making the car quicker.

I am on my third season, A class championship, level 18 and have only upgraded the tyres on one car so far. Starting to use the rewind button quite a bit now!

I had the option of getting this or the new COD, I played the forza demo and wasn't that much impressed so I choose COD and can't wait for it to come. I will get forza at some point though.

Another thing is the loading takes forever!

At the moment I've managed to get my Fiat 500 up to class C . I've only just finished my third class E championship race so I haven't played that much but I find it a bit annoying that there are so many mods you can do but as soon as you do them you can't use the car in the championship any more so what's the point.

My CoD is on order with Tesco so I should get it once it's out

Whats different about the new Forza then. Other than assisted cornering and braking. The re-wind prince of persia thing, which I think sort of spoils it really. I played the demo and the driving seems a bit none realistic. It was a bit drifty really but that could be down to the car. I want to get it because I play Forza 2 a lot I just need a reason to buy it lol.

I'm really excited for COD and can't wait for it to come out I just won't be able to play it as much

I was very unimpressed with the demo, especially when you shunted something and the camera moved. That got really annoying.

Like others I feel the rewind thing spoils the game play a bit. It's supposed to be a simulation game, when in real racing can you rewind because you made a mistake?

I think I'll wait until either one of my friends gets it and I can play the real game rather than the demo, or I'll wait until it's £5 like I did with Forza 2.

I don't understand the complaints about the rewind feature. Nobody's forcing you to use it.

I haven't picked up the full game yet, though I'll probably cave in at some point. The demo didn't really seem that big of a departure from Forza 2 to me, besides being a bit shinier. Shame about the tracklist too. Presumably they're holding out to wring some more cash from DLC.

I thought the track list is quite good especially Fijima (or what ever) and the other rally de something.

The actual game is better than the demo though.

Trust me the rewind feature saves you, especially when you've been racing for ages and make a tiny mistake right at the end

not played the demo or the full game, but think im gonna buy it, it looks and sounds way better than forza 2, and i really like forza 2.

The flashback thing is probably robbed from grid/dirt 2, doesnt matter to me cos either way you cant use it racing online so whats the problem.

It's pretty good but I don't see how the gameplay is better than than Forza 2 TBH. The graphics are slightly better.

I need to check forza 2, because sometimes forza 3 looks awful (Yes I'm using full 1080p HD monitor), I keep seeing dotts, where grass should be in the distance, makes it look wank.

I say Silverstone GP as it's the only UK track. BTW I hate that track so it's not in my favour

It can be moded or de-moded to get into that class

At the moment I don't have Live Silver or Gold because they suspended my account due to an expired card and they won't let me remove the bloody card!

From now on pre-paid cards it the way
