Not had a chance to be illegal..27bhp is fine and forgiving for me, but who knows...maybe if a 600 landed my way i might be tempted to risk it.
I've still got 12mnths A2 left.

Passed my test last September but didn't get a bike over 33bhp on the road until May. Ridden since May without being restricted and I've not been caught. I've never been pulled up yet.

It didn't bother me running at 33bhp, I had no experience of more power so was happy pootling along. When I got it deristricted I was surprised how little difference it made (only to the top of the rev range).

Personally, I agree with the restriction as it gives riders time to learn how to handle the bike; whenever anyone asks me about doing a DAS, I always recommend they do at least 6 months on a 125 then go restricted for the full two years.

Maybe I'm just a boring old git, but my current bike only has 49bhp and that's plenty enough for me.

i was restricted for first 3 months, personally i think it helped. when i first got on my full power hornet the speed and acceleration scared me, especially as i was not used to the weight and handling of the bike.

now its on full power i am much more comfortable with it. only another 9 months of restriction period anyway now Smile

When I came off my SV (6 months into 2 years) they were unable to find any washers and I almost lost my licence.

I was visited in hospital and asked questions and received a letter a few months later saying the case went to Crown prosecution but was not taken further due to only me getting hurt (and the carbs came apart so they could not 100% if they were there or not).

Your'll be fine unless you crash, then your not.
