Just joined up, So i'd thought I would show the bike off

I picked it up over 2 months ago from a local dealer. Was about the best that I had looked at so i jumped at it.

Plans are

Re-paint wheels. Currently deciding between black or the origional red.
Tail tidy and undertray (Already ordered)
End can of some description.
Get out and enjoy riding the thing!

Heres a couple of pictures from the dealers website, Ill get a couple more tomorrow after a good scrub.

Heres a package I received with the bits i wanted. Got nearly everything I need, Just short of the Indy spacers for the front indicators now.

Here we have
x2 sets of micro oval indicators
X2 sets of wiring adapters for the indicators
New reg plate (8x6)
Undertray
Rear tail light clip, That makes the single light look like 2 round lights.

https://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/8865/Photo073.jpg

So I started to fit them the following weekend.

Firstly covered it over as it started to rain.
Heres the shanty town that appeared this morning. It stopped as soon as I got everything out, So i just left it up Laughing

https://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/8865/Photo078.jpg

Got the front headlight fairing off and sat in the livingroom taking the old indicators off, ait intakes etc.

https://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/8865/Photo074.jpg

Hmm, Looks kind of restrictive...Might be a future project

https://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/8865/Photo075.jpg

Back on the bike. Went with the orange lenses as they look a bit more factory and subtle.

https://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/8865/Photo081.jpg

https://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/8865/Photo082.jpg

Then started on the rear, Stripped it all off then hacked away at the rear mudguard. Re located the alarm LED into the rear light so it lights the light up, All hidden away now, Heres a few trial fit pics, just got to get the fit perfect. Also put the rear light clip in place.

Drilled the holes in the numberplate only for it to smash into bits. So using the standard plate now. Also when assembling the tail tidy, Noticed i had put the front indicators in upside down, As there is a drain hole in the bottom that faces upwards instead of down Mad

Got hold of a Motrax Rrsend for the number plate and indicators and built it all up ready to go on.

Also the undertray has been painted gloss black, just got to build it all back up now.

Also got a carbon look tax disk holder on now.

Kind of neglected it for a bit because of work and buying a new car.

A couple of new bits arrived, A sock for the front brake fluid pot and the correct rear light clip.

https://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/8865/Photo104.jpg

Had to get a new clip as I didn't realise that the ZX9 was slightly smaller at the back end, and thought that they were the same size (As they look the same). Here is a pic showing the difference.

Grey = ZX9 Rear light clip
Yellow = ZX6 Rear light clip

https://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/8865/Photo105.jpg

Will be painting and fitting it on saturday, Got an aerosol with the colour the other day from a local paint supplier (Autopaints), Got it matched off the bike itself so i am hoping it has been mixed correctly.

https://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/8865/Photo110.jpg

https://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/8865/Photo111.jpg

Also picked up some front and rear paddock stands so I can start on the wheels. If i get the chance tomorrow, I'll start to take them off and rub them down.

And thats currently where i am upto. Just off to tighten the chain and lube it up.

Hope you all like it upto now

I had one in the same colours and miss mine now. Best all round bike I've ever ridden.

I had black wheels and it looked mint.

Also consider getting some pazzo (or similar) levers. I know people think theyre for tart value but they make a big difference, and fluch the brakes through and/or get braided lines. Do that before any other tarty mods!

Fit some Michelins for all round use then your laughing! Thumbs Up

Will be getting some braided hoses soon and giving the brakes a good overhaul. Also at the same time i will do a full service on it.

Been looking into tyres and i'm undecided between the michelin 2ct's and the pirelli diablo corsa's. Going to have a look into them a bit more before deciding.

Good stuff - some similar mods to mine, although mine is made of superior green Laughing
How do you find the ride - pretty harsh?? Mine has had a shock rebuilt and resprung with a K tech spring for a rider of around 14-15stone. Im around 11.5 so Ive a standard unit on its way to hopefully soften things up a tad.
Dont go too crazy with the tart bits - bike doesnt suit too much bolt on bits n pieces imo.
I would highly recommend uprgrading to goodridge hoses as the standard lines bulge like crazy. Changed mine recently gave a massive improvement.
As for your tyres, I will yet again bang on about how quality Conti sport attacks are, give em a try you wont be dissapointed. Go for 70 profile on front.
Keep the pics coming Thumbs Up

Top bike buddy!

I would say that though, as it's just like my old J1, and i did a few mods to mine that are along the same lines.

If you want a brand new set of HEL s/s front lines& EBC HH pads for it let me know ok. They are just sat on a shelf in my garage, i keep meaning to ebay them sometime.

In all honesty, thats it for the tarty bits, Want to keep it as subtle as possable.

Still looking at tyres but was told to look at what people say about the profiles, Also i find the ride ok, But i think the suspension needs setting up on the bike.

Get some crash bungs on them before it's too late. Kawasaki's don't crash well as I've found out... twice!

Mods are tasteful but keep an eye on the brake calipers and make sure you keep them clean. They rack up miles well too.

I would say the suspension is a weak point from my experiences anyway. Looking into upgrading mine over winter. I can only give you an opinion on Conti Sports and Pirelli Diablos as thats all ive had on mine. Diablo profile seemed a lot pointier than the Contis. They feel like they have a fairly neutral middle but steep sides which gives a sensation of the bike suddenly dropping in the turn. COntis seem a lot rounder and I get a lot smoother transition from upright to leant over. Thumbs Up

Thanks. The garden is all done by my Dad, When he ever gets a minute. Doesnt look as nice as it used to though!

I didn't realise there was so much difference in bike tyres. I thought they would be the same as car ones, Black round with a bit of tread on. How i was mistaken.

Also the front tyre is already a 70 profile. So think i will be sticking with the sizes that are on it already!

Bit of a balls up today.

Just put it on the rear paddock stand turned around and it had fallen off and bent the paddock stand. Luckily i got hold of the bike before it hit the floor so all is well with the panels. Only thing that took the brunt of the fall was the swingarm which is now scratched to hell and the paddock stand which is all bent.

Fortunately enough i managed to straighten the stand out enough to use it and do the chain, also lubed it up. Just got to decide on a way of hiding the scratches left by the paddock stand and find a way of straightning it out better!

I have loads of deep scratches on the swingarm of mine thanks to a tyre fitting shop Evil or Very Mad

Defo get the suspension setup for your weight! Did mine yesterday and its made the world of difference!( after owning the bike a year Embarassed )......main difference was raising the rear ride height adjuster by 8mm, tips in niiiice Laughing
