got an 03 fiesta and the clutch has gone

anyone know anything about an 03 fiesta clutch
assuming it is hydraulic not cable and im assuming it has something to do with the MC/SC/hose/hydraulic leak or (snapped cable if it is a cable clutch) as it was a sudden fail.
haven't had any problems up until now. no slipping (or not that i've noticed.
suggestions? ideas? anything that will help?

thanks in advance

I found this it sounds like its a common problem

Quote:
The rod on the pedal that actuates the salve cylinder on these have a nasty tendency to slip off the pedal - when you get it repaired - there is a clip available from garages/motor accessory shops etc that looks like a washer with teeth on it pointing towards the centre - this will stop the rod sliding away from the pedal stopping it from breaking.

hope this helps

sorted. went out to check my first guess which was that it was something to do with the pedal/slave cylinder as i still had working brakes. looked at the linkage between the pedal and the slave cylinder and it had indeed slipped off. come back and found that duhawkz has the right answer.

thanks for the help guys.
one last question, anyone know any where i can get a downloadable haynes manual for the fiesta

A Haynes is only £19, just buy one. But I'm a big fat hypocrite, because I download stuff for "free". It is rather handy to have one next to you when your working on stuff.

i only really want the manual to check numbers to be honest.
i also don't want to spend £19 on something that i can download for free when i don't even use this car.
