/start mature advice mode/
It will all depend on;
A: Do you have any other outgoing bills per month?
B: The price of the bike?
C: The price of insurance? (Speak to Danny )
D: Whether you get your licence or not.
I suppose the main one is whether you can afford it. By that I mean, do you have rent to pay, bills, loans to pay back already etc.

It's a bike, do it!!!!!

Provided you don't have any huge outgoings already, then yes you should be capable of running and maintaining a Bandit.
The insurance will really depend on your location, it will be high anyway because of your age... (at 18 I was paying nearly £800 on a 125 ). Otherwise, running costs are really quite similar to a car, and most people your age manage to run a car.
My best advice would be, sit at home and work out your expenditures, maybe over a month, collect all your receipts etc, account for everything, and see how much money you have left over. I would make sure you have not only the amount necessary to run the bike, but also enough to start saving for a contingency fund in case something goes wrong (i.e. your bike gets stolen, you have an accident, your boiler blows up at home etc etc). ____________________ Avast! I'd say you should be able to afford to run one ok. If you earn £10.5k you probably bring home around £800 ( ) unless you have some silly outgoings, which I doubt at 17, then you should have ample cash.
I'd double check but I think the 600 bandit needs servicing every 4000 miles and valve clearances need checking at each service which could be costly, though I'm not 100% sure ____________________ Too skint to buy a bike |

this is exactly my point, you have been sensible and got a bike that you can learn on and get some decent experience once your test is passed
buying a 600 and restricting it to 33hp as soon as you pass your test just doesn't make any sense to me ____________________ 187.3bhp = 201mph |
