I would arrest him. Of course I would only use as much force as was necessary to effect the arrest ____________________ Don't do as I do, do as I say! |

Well, before I took up bikes I once caught (sort of) some little scumbag trying to nick the stereo out of my car.
I was just closing the curtains of my front window at dusk when I looked out into the street and saw him breaking the driver's door window of my car.
I ran out and he ran away and jumped into a car that was waiting nearby which sped off.
However, the stupid cnuts were in their own vehicle with the number plate clean and clearly illuminated. I called the police, the chavs were known to them, arrested and convicted.
It was quite enlightening when I was giving my witness statement to the police. With it being fairly dark I hadn't got a particularly clear look at the lad that broke the window. So it went something like this:
Dectective: Now I'd like you to describe the person you saw.
Me: Well I really didn't get that good a look at him.
Dectective: Well, would you say that he was about 5'7", slim build with blonde cropped hair...

To be honest I would probably yell at them as soon as I saw them, like Raver did, then I'd either chase after them, or if they looked stronger than me I would check my bike over and tell the Police. I really should get a decent lock for my bike, as its the type that Chavs seem to be taking at the moment. However locally I dont think any bikes havent been nicked this year, I live in a small town of about 5000 people and the kids down here aren't that bad. Mind you Im certain someone tried to rip my ped off, came back one day to find the the barrel end where the keys goes all dented, but the lock still works fine. Il buy a nice big chain and padlock soon! ____________________ My bike: 1988 Kawasaki KH100 Status: Polluting Devon with two stroke smog and noise pollution!

I guess at the time, the last thing on your mind would be the consequences, especially if someone broke into your home with you and your family present |

i'd probably ask them if they were admiring my bike (as if) then ask them if they wanted a shot on the back, take them up to about 70mph and elbow them off the back |

I did actually catch someone trying to steal my R6 a while ago. When I say someone it was actually a four blokes in a white transit van outside my work window. Fortunately the lads I work with aren't the usual white shirt and tie brigade you would be expecting in a business park. Two of the lads are 6.4/6.5" and another lad has been teaching Wing Chun for 12 years. Not only did we end up with the bike we also got a transit and one unconscious bike stealing piece of shit.
I really didn't have any time to think about what I was doing after hearing the alarm sound. I found myself running out into the car park, fortunately I also had all the lads running out behind me. It almost seemed like we had it planned, two lads got hold of the driver and got the keys out of the van ignition. Another lad followed me and got hold of the bike and started a tug of war. Once they realised we had their van keys they all started trying to escape. unfortunately for the lad I had managed to get hold of all of his mates left him and ran. After hearing him shout "get the knife and stab them" I sort of lost it. As I said in my police statement "the lad tried to get out the back of the van over the top of the bike, unfortunately he landed heavily on to the tarmac car park". Fortunately the police weren't interested in trying to match my boot prints up the marks on his head.
By the time the police arrived, which was actually within 10 minutes, the whole of the building was out. Blokes from the surrounding buildings were out and had chased after the ones that had managed to get away. It seemed like the whole business park was out on the hunt, so many of them pissed off by car and bike thefts at the park. Funnily enough none of them actually saw anything other than the lad fall into the car park. The police caught the driver after a chase and he attacked one of their officers, so he'd done himself no favours. The copper that took my statement actually said "when we caught him, after we picked him up off the floor, we realized actually how big a bastard he was".
They actually took the case to court and what did the bastards get? 120 hours community service. I got a £400 repair bill for the damage to my tank and a newspaper clipping! I may also have got £400 worth of revenge. |
