well the ns is in a poor state after almost 16 thousand miles in my hands .

she is a ratty bike but served me well. prior to the engine incident she was a 2 kick gogogog bike, so see what happens otherwise there will be a ns 125 on ebay with 11 months tax and mot Sad

damage assesment

keep in mind this bike has done 16 thousand miles since i rebuilt it
she looks like this just sooo much dirtier now Very Happy

not bad for a old bike hauling my 14 stone arse around @ 70-80 allday and an indicated 100 head on tank hahaha

my piston actualy melted kinda....

hoping i can get my mate to hone it out as all the damage is EXTRA to the barel there is no indentation its all melted piston stuck to the barrel.

Fix it, you're not going to get much for it non running. There was one on ebay a few weeks back in fair condition but a non runner think it went for £86.

that makes shit all difference if it doesn't run lol

on a brighter note, if you can get another barrel and piston fairly cheaply, rebuild the top end (after 16k it couldn't have hurt it anyway)

tbh it would have done 20-25k on the piston that was in it , when i rebuilt it it had a brand new crank + original honda piston and a breand new barrel . i rechon it woulda don 25k without a doubt

can't you just bore it out or get it skimmed in the inside with new piston and barrel?

No, because it's nikasil plated. That's why he was hoping he could just hone the barrel remove the bits of piston and not the plating.

Remind me never to get a gayasil two-stroke.....

I know theres less friction and power gains to be had etc, but it makes life so much more difficult.

I'd clean up the bore and see what it looks like. If it's OK, bang a new piston in it. If it's not, get another barrel from somewhere. Plenty of life left in that old girl yet Very Happy
