I got wind of a neglected 4 month old (I think) Border Collie named Buster last night. He was an unwanted early Christmas present apparently. Poor little bugger lives under the stairs, sleeps in it's own shit etc, you get the picture. Evil or Very Mad

Buster is now named Bob and as of this morning he lives with myself, Mrs Flip and Meg (My Welsh Collie).

Wish us luck.

He looks extremely cute and probably full of energy! We had a collie when I was a nipper and she was a fantastic dog, best guard dog ever. Hope you have lots of fun with him and well done for rescuing him from misery.

Cheers

Well done Flip. There should be more people like you around and less like the wankers who owned him before.

Lovely looking dog, you won't be able to walk him anywhere without him being stroked sensless by every passer by Very Happy

Nice one. Very Happy He looks a lot like ours did when he was a little 'un. I can imagine collie's taking poor treatment especially badly, they seem to be a lot more sensitive than other breeds. So good on you for giving him a decent home. Thumbs Up

Nice one Flip-Flop... Karma

Although I hate those dogs, I had a flat years ago and the neighbour two doors along had one of those, during the summer he'd leave the door open so the dog could go in and out and sit in the sun on the main balcony/walkway, every time I stepped onto the landing the dog would bolt out the flat and chase me down the street, little fucker, never did it with anyone else just me, whether he didn't like the look of me or he was trying to herd me I have no idea, so I give that breed a wide birth now Laughing ...

My other Collie does it. I think maybe it's a security thing? So if you move it knows. Laughing

Meg wasn't to impressed with another dog turning up, displays of dominance but no aggression. So I sat on the floor, one dog on each side of me gave them both a stroke, while they were sniffing each other, 10 minutes later they're chasing each other around the table, tails wagging. I think it's going to be OK. Smile

He's more handsome then he looks in the photos. Smile

Just been to the shop to get a few extra things for the pup and I think I've been caught speeding. Sad Guess I'll know in the next two weeks. Neutral

Well done. He looks nice, smartest dogs apparently. Nice markings to. Glad he has a good home now.

Much like my dogs only one still has problems, he pees just randomly if you walk past him. Poor bugger always thinks he is in trouble. Rescued him from a dogs home they found him wandering the streets at 4 months old.

My understanding of it is that is more of a dominance gesture - kind of like they're taking ownership of an object, or in this case, you.

Get one Bazza...get two. One of my better decisions to have more than 1 dog.

Sorry to hear that Bazza. Sad Meg who is 2 now is my first dog, so I have yet to go through the pain of that. Many, many years from now I hope though.

Thank you people for all the nice comments. :

Bob has been to the vet this morning for a check up and is fine. He's skinny, only one of his balls has dropped but he's healthy. The vet was surprised how friendly he is (he licked her to death) and said that when she sees a collie she expects to get bitten. She said Meg was a "little bit Psycho" Laughing

Meg is thrilled to have a playmate. It's quite funny watching her try to show him the ropes. Meg will sit by you while you eat. Very still and quiet. At the end of the meal I'll throw a chip, or a bite of sausage and she'll go away quite happy. Bob on the other hand is trying to take from the plate, so Meg will block Bob until Bob sits. When Bob is sat, Meg will sit. Laughing
