Hi,

Just brought a car and it has remote central locking. It only had one key as the lady didnt have the remote fob to sell with it (so is just centrral locking at the moment). She was honest and Im a trusting enough that she wont come around with the 'lost' key Laughing

Now since it only has one key and I would like another as its halfs the girlfriends and well, she likes to lose things Laughing

Rung up an official peugeot dealer and its £134 for a new key with remote locking fob (including programming it in with the code).

I went to a local key/belt/shoe repair place and they quoted £25 due to having a transponder in the key.

Dont really want to spend lots on this but £25 in on its way to £134 so dont want to spend that only to get the remote fob later on.

Has anyone had this problem before and if so know of anyway/anywhere of getting a remote fob with key for less than £100 including installation?

Thanks

Hmmm, does it have a immobiliser? That is the 'key' question. Wink

With my Focus, I had 2 keys and lost one. Turns out you need 2 keys to make a 3rd. Something to do with coding for the immobiliser.

If it has no immobiliser then get the key from the shoe shop and search the internets on how to code the remote. With the Focus it is switch the ingnition on/off 4 times, wait for the beep, then hold a button on the remote until another beep.

Thumbs Up

Thing is with Peugeot, when the battery goes dead in the fob 0 (RF fobs) you need a new key. They only work once. Confused (Depending on the age of the Pug).

It does have an immobiliser but the key shop man put it in a machine to check if he would be able to copy it and he said it would be fine (money back if not i guess)

Interesting to know about when the battery dies you need a new one Confused.

Anyone know anywhere cheap to get it done though with the remote?

Ebay has some depending on the model. I assume you can then take it to the shoe shop?

It's been a while since I looked it to it Andy but if you google Peugeot key fobs, you'll find a bit of info. But basically you can't reprogramme the fobs for the remote locking yourself, unless it's the IR kind. Peugoet can recode them though. (Or sell you a new key, I forget).

b. The study of structural relationships in language or in a language, sometimes including pronunciation, meaning, and linguistic history

Maybe you need a lesson on definitions too.
