right my nsr has decided to stop starting after a few weeks of not being used , theres a clicking noise every time i press the starter and i thought it was the starter motor relay but i was wrong , the clicking seems to be coming from the power valve servo ? after the starters pressed the servo will begin juddering slightly and continue this clicking noise . also the dash lights and headlights will dim when the starters pressed , i know they normally dim anyway but now they are alot dimmer and flicker slightly ?

i was hoping someone could shed some light on this situation ? i was thinking something in the power valve circuit has blown and somehow has caused that to be drawing current from the battery which means there inst enough for the starter to turn over ???? or maybe even reg/rec problems as i know a blown reg can caused some really weird electricalm problems . all help appreciated ,cheers Thumbs Up

edit : i haven't mentioned battery because this one sonly about a month old , i don't have a multimeter right now as mines broken

on the nsr when the igntion is put on the powervalve servo motor does actiivate, have you tried putting your headliights on and then trying to start as a general rule if they dull riight down then it is more than likely a battery or main connectiion fault.if you can get another battery or try jump starting it from a car battery that wiill eliiminate the battery Smile

The battery will still drain over time, especially if you have an immobiliser and in this cold weather.

You may not have properly followed the new battery set up procedure either, which has a great effect on it's overall life and charge capacity.

meh , the nsr dosent have an imobiliser , or an alarm

i didn't read the instructions for the battery but assumed it was just pour the acid in , leave it over night and plug and play , it was a pikey battery so possibly , ive put the battery on charge while im at work and ill try jumping it later to see what happens

just put the battery on slow charge for 6 to 8 hours then let it cooling down for a couple hours . check voltage afterwards and is voltage is less than 12.8V , change battery
