I do a thick line, then a thin line on top of it for bicoloured wires.
It's white ones that are difficult, you need to do long, thin rectangles.
Do it all big and chunky then scale it down for the final version. Something like photoshop is better for scaling than paint.
Reduce the colour depth to 256 (or even 16) colours.
Don't save the original as a .jpg or .png. Use a lossless format like .bmp or .tif or you'll have trouble editing it later (specifically doing things like flood filling a wire to a different colour, compressed formats pixellate them). If you need to email it you can save a copy as a compressed format and email that but keep the original lossless. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. PNG is basically a betterer .gif, that also doesn't suffer copyright issues that never really happened.
GIMP is worth a look if you want free photo editing stuff - should do all you need in this case. |
MS paint .png files are not proper .png files, it doesn't compress them properly and can screw them up. Fine if using .png in photoshop or GIMP but not MS paint.
I actually use Kolourpaint for linux which is basically the same as MS paint but a bit better at scaling/resizing, handling transparency and undoing. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. i use visio,
its not perfect, but its better than paint and paint.net
its better than every other program ive tryed,
if you want a multi coloured line, then you have to draw the base line
and then do it again with either a thinner line or a dotted one,
on the plus side it will follow the previous line you've drawn, so isn't too bad.
if you are running win 7 then you'll need visio 2007
if you are running xp then visio pro 2002 is sweet/better but doesnt seem to run on win7
both are on bit torrent and have the codes with them ____________________ the humans are dead

Yes that opens another option that I will try. Basically the perfect one would be a program that can change the wire colours on an existing diagram, but in addition one that will also allow drawing up a complete wiring diagram or modification from scratch.
Thanks, I never even thought of looking at Ooo Draw. ____________________ Thanks & regards

I have set up Visio on Win7. Quickly saw that I will need to do a bit of playing around to get the hang of it before it will be useful. Now I just need some spare time.
Thanks for the tip again.
By the way do you have a Kymco Zing Wiring Diagram somewhere? ____________________ Thanks & regards
