Not even turning over...

Go through the startup procedure, key to 'ON', clutch in, neutral, stand up, kill switch fine - hit the switch and ZILCH. Freshly charged battery too. No whirring, no clicking, no lights flickering...

Only picked up the bike last night, saw it and sat on it when running...could I have knocked something in transit?

Ruddy annoying, bet I've overlooked something simple but any advice no matter how stupid gratefully received!

Blown fuse, wire disconnected from battery, faulty/damp ignition switch, corroded/wet/trapped wire somewhere. Bound to be something simple.

There's bound to be more than one "kill switch" on the bike, check them all (side stand etc. my CG won't start sometimes when it thinks it's in gear but isn't, false neutral and all that).

Otherwise, a weird electronic fault, possibly one of the ones suggested above?

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?

I find just attacking everything with WD40, leaving it for ten minutes, then having another try often works wonders Smile

check if you have a sidestand switch, make sure its connected if fitted, and given a good dose of vitamin WD. Also pay close attention to the igntion kill switch and the starter button.

Does it bump start?

call the person/place you bought it from and ask them how to start it.

I already did that before I posted here, she was as baffled as I was. I believe her too.

Aaaaanyway, she fired up fine this morning. Cut out a couple of times when I tried to change gear or give her a few beans at first, left her to warm up and then all was sawweeeet.

I wish I knew what I'd done differently Confused Jiggled a couple of wires, sprayed WD40 on anything that looked like it might be sticking, bizarre...hopefully just a one-off - thanks for the tips guys!

Probably water got in somewhere. It's always as well to have a can of WD with you when you're out riding.

My first bike refused to work in the rain to begin with, it would just cut out. After attacking it with WD40 all was well, so I hope what ever you've done makes a difference and that you don't get caught out in the middle of nowhere!
