Hey guys, fitted my self a Cat3:1 accumen alarm on my dt125, everytime I lock or unlock the "bike" (alarm) it powers up the power valve for a split seccond.
It has only happened since I wired the alarm to flash the indecators.
Is it just because there is 12 volts in the electrical system ?
As when the ignition is turned on the PV resets it position automaticaly.
Is this a problem and will it wear the pv motor out over time?
Jamie.

Sounds like the flasher unit shares a common supply with the ignition dc feed.

This will not do any harm to the bike or alarm.

My old accumen alarm was wired in to the rear side light and would live the whole bike when it flashed,

So if the headlight was switched on it would flash not just the side light and if I pressed the starter button the motor woulds turn whilst the alarm went off/flashed.

I suppose fitting a diode of some sort to stop the whole system becoming live by back tracking through the loom would eliminate this problem.

i agree in the fitting a diode solution,a cheap and easy way of sorting the problem.......just think of a diode as a one way valve that will only let the electrical current flow one way
