the throttle is sticking on, and has to be rolled off.

i have narrowed it down to the throttle as i have stripped it and cleaned it and then it will snap back fine for a little while before sticking again.

suggestion please.

thanks

Try moving it out about 2mm, it may just be clipping the end of the bar.

As in, the handle grip is affecting it's "snap back" time?

If cables are freely moving, how close is the grip to both the bar and and throttle housing? Close enough to catch?

Have you suck any lubricant in there after cleaning?
I'd lube under the throttle tube as well as the cable.
As above, also check it's not rubbing on the switch gear or the bar end.
A slightly bent bar will do the same, but presume that's not the case here.

i did consider that it may be catching the bar end, so i rolled the rubber back and it still did it.

i couldnt get the bar end off anyway as its seized.

If you haven't had the throttle tube off to give it a decent clean, I'd definitely be getting some silicon spray under there at least.

I've been quite surprised how much affect a clean and a bit of grease can have to 'feel' of the bike - like getting a free 10hp thought out the rev range Smile.

Hi

Make sure that there is a bit of free play in the cables. If the open and closing cables are adjusted to pull tightly against each other then it can cause the throttle to stick.

All the best

Keith

I've found that getting a flat screwdriver under the grip to allow you to spray a bit of WD40 up inside it is great for making minor adjustments, get's it nice and slippy but that wears off in a very short space of time so you don't discover any inconvenient lack of control when riding.
