Any light fitted to the bike has to work, so I presume that includes the neutral indicator light. Wouldn't put money on it, though. The indicator warning lights do have to work.

Battery must be charged (so the tester can see the indicators, brake light etc work OK).

In my world, that bike would be 'as new' or at the very least 'immaculate' Laughing My daily work bike is more rust than metal these days, but it passed its MOT no bother just before Xmas Shocked Wink

No it doesn't.

If they work with the engine running it will pass.

Not where I have my bikes MOT'd. Tester has been doing the job since 1979, so he should know. On most small bikes, the revs need to be fairly high to make the indicators flash and the horn work with a dead battery. This is considered dangerous as said items won't work (properly) at tickover and are thus considered unsafe.

Not all testers are thorough. But the battery should obviously be fully charged, even if you could get a bike through the MOT with it flat.
