Hi,

Had a car for a month or so now and my insurance have just turned around and said my 2 years bike NCB is no good so either pay £200 or get £320 back and go elsewhere (85% what I paid).

I have spoke to them twice about using bike NCB and they said it was fine but for now i have 7 days to get new insurance or stop using the car Crying or Very sad .

I have heard of loads of people on here transfering NCB over so please help as would like to be able to use my NCB!!

Is there a list of companies that accept bike NCB? Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Thanks in advance Thumbs Up

Tesco will and eCar will.

There are loads and loads and loads of threads about car insurance companies that accept bike NCB, here's a few of them.

Egroup do - so you can get monthly insurance to 'transfer' it.
Tescos/churchill etc group also do.
Have you asked for any recordings of phone conversations etc where they've said they would let you use it?

Gladly,

I was with SureTerm Insurance purely due to them being the cheapest on Comparethemarket.com (and cheapest out of all the quotes I had)

In the 5 weeks I have been with them:

- Got sent a text from sureterm on Christmas Eve informing me in 7 days I will have no insurance due to not sending the insurance docs back signs despite me ringing twice explaining that I havant received anything

- argument 1 where I rang and explained I havant had the documents and now 200 miles away for Christmas to be told 'Its not their problem and I should take it up with Royal Mail Neutral ' to which I told them to fcuk themselves and give me an extension (which they did after 10 mins of arguing).

- Two telephone convosations about how my BIKE NCB were ok despite one of the calls being a call as to why my BIKE NCB hadnt been used for 4 months but agreed on the phone that they are fine as I knew for some companies they are not.

- Telephone call 1 week after explaining I pay £200 or get a 85% refund (which is fair IMO) and that if I had claimed I wouldnt have been covered which sparked agruement 2 where I explained above.

WORST COMPANY EVER, mmiscommunicationat its best and poor customer service. Think I have had more problems in the last 5 weeks with this company that all my previous insurance including when I had to make a claim.

Im leaving since I think the refund value is fair and purely because i would be screwed if I ever needed to claim based on their performance so far Embarassed .

They have admitted that they have admitted the bike NCB were said to be ok and have got a good quote with admiral which I think will provide much, much better cover.

Just be careful when you come to renewal time - they put mine up and took it from my card (leaving me seriously over drawn), despite the fact I no longer had the card, then took a big chunk when they refunded.
Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to mess with them. Also did me badly when I did have to claim.
But then, I don't really choose insurance companies on the basis of how they work when you have to claim.

just out of interest.. are there companies which would take car NCB onto a bike?

i was amazed when this was suggested to me in germany. means that my vespa px200 insurance is down to a whopping 33 euros a year and it'll come into my thinking when i move back to england and am looking for a more substantial ride. thanks folks!

Ebikeinsurance does. As has been mentioned, you can always get a month's insurance on their montly policy for one month, then use it else where.

Oh and it's nice to see BCFs google rankings working to good effect Thumbs Up Smile.

I tried calling you twice on Friday at 11am and 3.20pm and both times you were unable to come to the phone Confused .

Im still yet to recieve any money back from my policy and reckon I have called sureterm about 8-10 times now. Insurance runs out on Wednesday so going to have to find the money for the new insurance.

I will call again tomorrow Mark, hopefully you will be by the phone this time Thumbs Up

Nope, one or the other. Since the RXS is currently got the GF as main rider (the bike is with her currently) I put myself as the main car driver as had NCBs not being used.

More than likely.

But you wouldn't gain any more NCB by doing that...

I'm not bothered about car ncb as i rarely keep a car a year anyway and barely use one during summer, it's all about the bike Cool

It is all about the bike.

But if you keep switching you won't be building any car or bike NCB unless you leave the NCB in one place!
