Absolutely beautiful although that pillion seat really detracts. If it were just a foam block on the rear mudguard it would be perfect.

Somebody has pinched the bar-end. There is nothing holding the throttle twistgrip in place.

I particularly like the delicate little drive shaft. It's no thicker than the rear brake push-rod.

i was just going for the general its a boxer and its a 2 stroke, rather than what would actually make the bike better Very Happy cheers though

i wonder why no one else has seemed to make one??
surely you could get some decent power out of the design??

I suppose there's no reason not to make a boxer 2 stroke. I always imagined that 2Ts were regarded as the poor relation and made as cheaply as possibly back in the day - which would mean sticking with the basic parallel twin design (and single, obviously).

Would love to have a go on this MZ, just to see what it's like.

No. It's a Manx Norton. A special 500cc single that you could buy off Norton that was ready for the track. BSA had a similar thing in the rocket goldstar. The irony being, there are more Manx Nortons and Goldstars on the market now than were originally built. Provenance is everything!

A Triton is a Triumph Bonneville engine in a Norton Featherbed frame.

A Norvin is a 1000cc v-twin Vincent Black Shadow engine in a Norton featherbed frame and is both rarer and sexier (and now having replicas made brand new for about the same price as a basic Porsche 911 but with a fanny magnet effect around an order of magnitude higher. You don't need to know anything about bikes to know one of these is a) Rare. b) Fast and c) Extremely sexy.).

i quite like the wee sachs rotary engine that a few people stick in bikes, normally they are stationary motors or for outboads or skidoo's

and the hercules is pretty nice as well

this and Molnar Norton are making brand new ones. also the manx came in 350cc Thumbs Up

(although there are a lot that are ES2's Etc that are modified to look like a manx)

ES2s look nothing like a manx single though! It really is all about the featherbed frame tho, very much a classic design.

I currently have a Triton in the making been sat in parts for about 6 months, same old time and money story.

know that feeling my dommie is laid up atm till i sort the issue (which i think is down to primary drive) is going to cost me £174 for the parts.
