Why arent MOTs and service applicable?
Anyways, I do around 5k per year so not sure exactly of the fuel costs but I get around 10miles to a £1 so maybe around £500ish on fuel.
Tax, however much that is?? £60ish?
Insurance £170ish
service parts £25 ish (no labour)
mot £29
Tyres not every year but averaged out prob £100 a year.
So id say a very approximate £900 (or about £850 without mot and service)

I didn't think MOT's to be applicable because it's a standard price, and servicing...well as we both know, a lot of bikers do that them self.
Thanks for the info tho . ____________________ This is my motorcycle. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.

Do about 5000 miles combined on the 125 and 600.
125:
80-90mpg, £15 tax, £120 insurance.
600:
35-45mpg, £48 tax, £375 insurance.
Insured the 250 for a month, only done about 100 miles. Cost about £50 just for insurance and petrol that month. ____________________ Current Bikes: Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 (2020)

From then on, I and the bicycle feelings deeper. |

Had some big jobs this year, ignition lock, discs front and rear, c&s, rear bearings, and two major services (@15k) fell in the same 12 month period.
The good news is that the Scottoiler has saved me a set of c&s so that's at least £150, and the Metzler Tourance are so durable that I'm now only buying 2 sets of tyres each year and not 3 so that's save me another £200 ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen... |

Ins £55 with cash back
Tax £66
Milage i do 9K a year comuting. I get 65 to 70 Mpg and put around 13 ltr in a week to cover the 200 miles. So that varies between £10 & £15 depending on the price at the time.
You have gotta add tyres into your pricing as most bikes wil do at least 1 set a year at approx £100 which is what mine cost.
Compared to the car for the same trip its a good 50% cheaper in all area's ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

R1 and my dl650 just started to run 2 bikes so dunno about fuel
had the dl650 for a while now so pretty much know what she costs me. Just got the R1 so im just going on info i have got from others and rough estimates.
Both Bikes Together.
Insurance £400
Tax £132
mot £80
oil every 4000-6000 £140
TYRES..
Dl650 £20 race scrubs
R1 currently expecting 3500-4000 miles tops so £150
FUEL..... to feckin much
Dl650 around £1200-1300 ( i think) have done 15000 in the last 12 months at around 55-60 mpg dropping to 35+ if im pissing about on her.
R1 only just got her and have been told to expect under 35mpg
Altogether in the next 12 months i can see them costing me just under the £2500 mark..... Christ so much money when i work it out HAHA
EDIT
Dropped the dl a few months back which cost £230 to repair ____________________ DL650 Vstrom 2004

Insurance £230
Tax £66
Mileage about 7k. Say an average of 40mpg, 175 gallons of fuel. At an average of £1.05 a litre about £375.
Gives me a total of £671.
Servicing:
MOT £30
Fitting of two new tyres and adjustment of head bearings £55.
Pair of tyres £84
Oil changed twice, once with filter. Also topped up a few times as it seems to burn halfway down the sight glass then stay there. Say 7 litres, about £33.
Oil filter £3
4 spark plugs £5
So £210 servicing all in. The brakes didn't need doing last year. ____________________ H100 Breaking for spares |
