I have agreed to buy a mates a Hornet.

Needs a bit of work but should be fun once done.

But the question is have I betrayed the gods of Suzuki Sad

Tis a 99 in Yellow.

But colour shall change, suggestions ?

Also any must have mods ?

G's caught your ghey and you've been cured. But then caught the 'Respray and mods' ghey.

Fail.

Welcome to Honda Razz

What made you decide to get a Hornet? price?

Mods, exhausts, Akra sounded good on the CBR (similar engines) belly pan. possibly some Rethal bars? and the general braided lines.

If I seem to remember the suspension is not as good as the CBRs so maybe some internal upgrades with them? k-tech/Ohlins?

Only a few ideas. Do quite like Hornets...

Ghey.

What's happened to you?

Even I know Suzukis are way more fun than Hondas these days.

Oo, I had a '99 in Yellow, I wonder if it's the same bike. Laughing

Yellow's fastest, and the Akra sounded nice on mine.

Up to you on the suspension front, but personally I found mine was fine for road and track. Yes you can get it by handling better using a BSD fork revalve, and an aftermarket shock, but it's up to you. I had BSD revalved forks on my track bike, and a technoflex shock and found it to be frankly awesome.

my hornet was yellow, had a respray to black before i got it though.

must have mods:

- renthals. the standard bars feel SO cramped.

- braided lines. i just got mine fitted and they are goooooood.

- tail tidy (twin lights optional!) they improve the rear end massively.

- bar end mirror. i love mine, simple as.

- new exhaust. i have a stubby micron on mine and sounds the nuts. link pipes can be a bitch to get a good fitment (viper are a no-no, blueflame are a yes-yes)

- belly pan. just for looks!

- rear hugger and front fenda extenda. stops extra road crap from flying everywhere.

edit: some pics of mine for examples as above (braided lines not fitted, also now have stubby adjustable brake/clutch levers)

Don't do ^that^ to it.

Honda's are machines of subtly beauty, that like to be appreciated by their owners and bask in the glory they are about indestructable.

Welcome to the brighter side. Wink

You may have betrayed your GSXR roots but it could have been worse MGlee, you could have proper wimoed out and bought the blandit. Just keep telling yourself that the Suzuki's have character and its fun that they break! Wink

Worse, he caught the Honda 'ghey', at least it's not a twin Razz.

NOt sure it'll make a good bike, but a reasonable run-about.

Mods - big can of HT matt-black and some scratches/dents from dropping it going for a 12'o'clock Smile.

No, he's talking about McGee who whored both his Gixxers with the same photoshopped pics in EVERY thread on the forum he posted in until now.
