hi.
i have a thread in show and tell, and was just wondering if i will have to remove my carbs to change the spark plugs on a zx6r j1?

i also plan to remove the restrictors from the carb manifolds. could i do this by loosening or will they need removing?

thanks

To get at the plugs on my J1 2000 model zx6, you onto need to remove the airbox, but its still an arse of a job to do.

To take out the restrictors, you take the airbox off, loosen the clamps on the bottom of the carbs (3mm allen key i think), then pop the carbs off and move them back a bit...

You shouldnt even need to take off any pipes or cables. Smile

with the airbox off, you can probably just loosen the clamps on the carbs, lift them onto the head and pull the restrictors out of the inlet rubbers. I doubt youll need to disconnect the throttle cables.
