Out of interest how big is your plate, my bike came with a small one but don't want to give the police a reason to tug me |

This is the only link I could find this monring...there is a better one that explains the British Standard requirements.
https://www.newreg.co.uk/services/dvla_number_plates/acrylic_plate_rules
There is no minimum numberplate size.
The size of the characters, their spacing and the reflective borders around the characters are defined. Therefore if you have less digits in your regestration, your plate can be smaller than the assumed legal 9"x 7" motorbike plate. ____________________ 25/7 I'm a God-damn Rock Star

I had a small number plate on my TDM, it was about an inch and half high buy five inches long... (Not internet inches...)
I got pulled by anmarked traffic car, they gave me one of those (I think) 21 days to rectify heehaws, no fine or points. Sounds like the officer who pulled you over was in a bad mood.
The bike was due its MOT anyway, so it needed to be done. I actually got stopped about 5 days after that by an ordinary panda type car because of the number plate. I told the WPC that I had a ticket and it was in the works, she asked if I was sure I had a bike license? I was tempted to say something flippant (something about mistaking my TV license for a bike license, silly me... ) But I didn't.

They'll pull you on it to try and sell you a new one if they make plates. |

Legality of the plate is more than just the text.
The plate must show the BS number, the makers name and postcode (and possibly more address details). I guess that slogans are a no-no aswell.
It can only display the EU symbol in the blue box, no other symbols are allowed (so no national flags or manufacturer /model logos.)
Ghost images behind the text is not allowed.
So here is an interesting (or not) question...
If you have a rear reflector stuck to your number plate, is that deemed to interfere with the layout of the plate in terms of the yellow reflective border around the text) and therefore make it illegal? Don't loose too much sleep over that!
I have three plates...
legal one for the MOT (and North Wales)
8x6 "Where's me stabilisers" for the week and
7x5 "Rock n roll as a wet lettuce" for sunday best ____________________ 25/7 I'm a God-damn Rock Star
