rite erm i leave bike idleing for 10 mins, i notice lights seem very dimm, so i give bike a rev and is heavily miss fireing,

bike dont start up again, seems to me like a flat battery , maybe not charging up but would a flat battery cause a miss fire?

so anybody have an idea where there rectifier(charger thingy) is on these lol

i am also looking into changing the coil pack as iv heard these are a common thing on these

so all comments welcome

cheers

Yes, flat battery can cause a mis-fire because your bike won't spark properly or with a strong spark which could sometimes dump fuel in to your exhaust to be ignited there on a different stroke of the engine. I think.

Or am I just thinking of a backfire? I think misfire is where the fuel ignites at the wrong time, probably also a spark plug issue. Try the plug.

try a new battery??
might not be the regulator, where abouts are you, ive got 3 batteries for the CBR... just so happen to be the same as my other 125's.

My GS500 started to have a crap spark on the way back from Peterborough, ended up broken down in essex as my battery wasnt charging.

Turned out to be a fuse, just was so dirty it didnt make contact!

iv used a bosch tester on the battery from work which basically is coming up 91% cold start capacity (minimum 74%) and states "good battery"

but cant get a reliable charge rate from the tester as with this tester you are suppose to test with no electrics on whatsoever do test 1 and the switch all lights on and do test 2 so it can check the load but as the lights are always on i dont 100% trust the results,

its just come to me, i will unplug the front lights tomorrow and repeat the charge rate test

will update when iv done the test

im in bolton mate

looking at the wireing diagram theres 3 yellow wires going to the actualy alternator, is it possible a wire could come loose?

ino the alternator is inside the left engine case but like a car is belt driven, are these chain driven or just work off friction or sumat?
