I'm bricking it about mod 2 tomorrow

I really am shitting myself...

I passed my theory and mod 1 first time last week, so i'm hoping to do the same with mod 2. I've heard it's piss easy compared to mod 1, and at the same time, i've heard it's a lot harder?

This is a little list of what i think is important in the test:

Lifesavers/Checking mirrors, check over both shoulders when pulling out of a junction. Check over appropriate shoulder when turning a certain direction and roundabouts etc, and mirror checks every 5 seconds.

Indicators, indicate for whatever direction, when pulling in and pulling out. Making sure i don't leave them on.

Road positioning, centre of the road for going straight, right for going right, and left for going left.

Parking, not on zig zag lines, double yellow lines, bus stops, or near junctions.

One thing i'm not sure on, is putting my left foot down, when stationery at traffic lights for example, instead of right, and keeping the right foot on the rear brake lever. I however, have always put my right foot down, and kept my left foot on the gear lever, ready to change down from neutral.

Do you have to use a certain foot when stationery, and do you have to be in neutral, or can you just hold the clutch in?

Any other tips would be really helpful, because i'm getting really nervous now, it's only tomorrow, it's so close!

I talked to myself during the test, it helped me remain calm. Infact i quite enjoyed my test.

Remember if you don't get it this time, there's always next time.
Try and take the pressure off yourself, breathe nice and slow and keep your speed up when you can.

Cheers guys, and thanks Chives, i'll remember that, it's a lot easier that way, i tried the left foot down and going into neutral on the way to college this morning, but it just didn't feel right. I did exactly what you said, but on the way home, and it felt much better, so i'll keep the clutch in at a stand still tomorrow, and left foot down

Immensely large bits, i have to agree with you there, i talk to myself quite a lot when riding actually, it keeps me calm and relaxed. I'll definitely do it whilst on the test, so thanks mate

One last thing, when you do lifesavers, is it both shoulders when you're going straight over at traffic lights for example, or only right? I know it's a left lifesaver if there's a cycle lane...

Good luck mate, my mod 2 is on Thursday asuming it doesn't get cancelled like the previous two.

I failed my first one due to not having the right frame of mind.

So next time i'm gunna get a decent nights sleep, plenty of food and water.

I've been told to just ride my bike how i've been doing so, an how i was taught.

If you make a mistake, hopefully the instructor didn't notice, an carry on like it never happened.

Easier said than done i know, but good luck

I see people putting their right foot down all the time, and it puzzles me. I keep the bike in gear, ready to go. If a car comes up behin fast and isn't going to stop, I can gtfo the way. Or if an emegency vehicle appears.

Also, it's sods law that when i o put it in neutral, the lights turn green

Just chill out mate, before mine, i sat watching TV, cup of tea and toast, slapped all my gear on and went out for an hour before, practising everything as if I was on the test.

Definitely made me go.. what should i do at this corner.. mirror, indicate, life saver... go.

You will be fine! Just keep level headed and imagine you are just on a proper decent cruise!

just a quick thing. when stationary keep the right foot up and keep the back brake on when stationary but when you are pulling away obviously take it off the back brake. this is important because if you get rear ended you get knocked forward rather than if it was the front brake on and going over the handlebars an examiner should look out for this.
