Well my indies don't flash at the right rate and most of my rxs electrics is of the "twist and tape" variety.
However, I do know better so its on my list of things to do. Will probably done when I do my 12V AC only conversion!
First I'd read this .
Then I'd make sure all the bulbs in the indies are of the 6V variety before proceeding....
Now the indies with two wires have a live and an earth. It doesn't matter which way round for a simple filament bulb. Now on Yamaha's its the dark green (left) and "chocolate" (right) wires for the indies. Double check that left/right as its from memory.
So with the twin wire indies connect one wire to the green/chocolate with a crimp connector and the other wire to the frame of the bike (or other appropriate earth point).
I'm guessing the single wire indies are metal bodied right? They only need one wire as they earth through their metal bodies so with that single wire just plug it into your respective green/chocolate wire. |

Right, I got the back ones to work But the bloke who put on the indies has wired up the front ones the wrong way round! So swaped them over and now only the right one works Is it the same as the back? Where theres two wires for each indie and one is the earth? When i undid the headlamp it was the bike had spilled its guts with all these wires. I looked at it all and thought maybe i should leave this to a pro? The haynes dosent give much help either for this ____________________ Its a way of life!! |

Just went through it all from top to bottom! And i found that the indie that didnt work was the wrong wattage. all the rest are 6v 15w and the one that was dodgy was 12v 25w, but looked exactly the same. Should of checked that first! Sorry for wasting every1s time ____________________ Its a way of life!! |
