god damn ice, theres now a hole in my engine

right i launched my r6 up the road on my way home from work yesterday morning on a patch of stealth ice, easy things to fix being bent clutch and gear change and an indy

but the part i need help with is the left hand side of the engine

it ate up about 20ish feet of road on its "little slide" and has a very slight oil leak, i think there's a fine crack/hole in it or hopefully it just took a whack and the gasket is fooked, but im gunna investigate later on today and get all the fairings off


how much do you reckon this is gunna cost me to fix if it is a hole

You would have to post pics so we can see the extent of the damage and give you an estimate.

If its just the engine cover thats ripped through then they can be had for cheap on the bay.

as far as i know all i have to do is drain oil

take plastics off

whip off the broken cover replace gasket and new cover fill up oil etc etc

nothings gunna fall out of the engine when i take the side off is it

Hi

You can probably get away without draining the oil, especially if you have someone who can hold the bike and lean it to the other side while you do it. However unless the oil is new then you may as well change it at the same time.

Nothing should fall out when you take that cover off. There is the generator bolted to the inside of it.
