Very Happy Thats great buddy!
I really hope everything works out for you!

I don't see how they could give a prison sentence to someone who handed the weapon to the police in the first place.

Good luck at the interview, i'm sure you'll be fine though. Thumbs Up

That is good news.

Does this mean that you will not have a criminal record?

Good news! Thumbs Up

Really they're looking for real criminals who buy these things on online to use in organised crime. People like you who see something "cool" on Jackass and want to copy it aren't their real target.

Phew, you must be relieved!
In my room I have a scalpol, one blunt penknife, one sharp penknife, lots of heavy books, and one Chinese dagger. About "10 long. Its more of an ornamental thing with decorated grip and blade etc, and it's quite blunt, but has a good sharp point that could do some damage. Mainly I use the smell of the unemptied bin to keep people out! That and the cat and the stone tortoise in the pond. . .

What the hell are you planning on doing with a 10 inch dagger other than stabbing or attacking someone? Confused

I'm sure I've got my dad's old army sabre somewhere... Not to mention the 9 inch Nazi dagger my grandpa stole from the Reichstag. Laughing Along with the hospital bed sheets, the Iron Cross 1st Class, the dental forceps, the wine, etc....

edit: as far as kubatons go, I'd say why bother? They're nifty and all, but you'd be better off with a decent steel pen, or a marker pen as was suggested before.. Most of the stuff you can do with the kubaton, you can do with a biro. Smile

Cheers i hope so too.

I'm pretty pissed off with the police, my brother was arrested last night for being 'drunk & disorderly', they reckon he was making hitler signs. He'd never do anything like that. They arrested him, took him 15 miles to a police station and stripped him naked and chucked him in a cell. Nobody came when he asked to go to the toilet so he had to take a slash in the cell.

He's going to contest it, they didn't take a blood sample and he's pretty pissed off with the way he was treated and his mates were witnesses

I think cautions are deleted from your record after 3 years providing you dont re-offend within that time.

Not sure though

I went to the Police station today as arranged. Had to sit down and answer questions, while he wrote the dialogue down. At the end I just had to sign to say everything is correct, I understand the laws and I accept a warning. It is an offence but as they decided to only give me a warning he said it won't show up on my record, although they will have it on file. He also said I don't have to disclose it to any prospective employer etc, you don't even have to if you get a caution unless you are asked if you have any convictions including cautions by an employer.

He stressed again today that I could have gone to prison and that I was lucky

Relief Thumbs Up

That sounds just like typical copper behaviour trying to scare you. No way would you have got a custodial sentence under these circumstances.

That approach by some police officers does nothing to help me respect them. A realistic attitude would be much more preferable.

I think that approach is fine, like you said, he was trying to scare him, not for shits and giggles, but to make him realise that he should be aware of the law and abide by it, I think scaring people a bit is good, if you let them get away with it all the time with no "scaring" they will try more stuff they shouldn't do and do it more often.
Might not make perfect sense to you, but I know what I mean, heh.

And glad it has all worked out fine, this mean you will be going to the bike show at westpoint? Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

That'll teach you for being a model citizen and handing in your weapons. Confused

Next time don't bother, just bury 'em in the darkest depths of your shed or something. And the copper warning you of 'how close you were to jail'....pur-leeeese Rolling Eyes

Should have called him a drama queen and zapped him with your taser Very Happy
