I tried bbq paint on my tzr exhausts, after the first long hot run all the paint flaked away from the down pipes so that was £5 wasted.
Now I use PJ1 exhaust paint about £6 for one can just enough for both exhausts and respray once a year I have found pj1 to be excellent ____________________ It`s all powerfull white mans magic

Back in the day Sperex was the stuff to use. It wasn't very durable but I don't think that any aftermarket paint is going to last very long under conditions of such extreme heat.

I used wire wool and Plastikote matt BBQ paint on the downpipes of the GPZ.
It all lasted for a number of months of daily commuting before the colour started fading and I had to respray. ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N
