Already in Scotland but we're going up north with my girlfriends parents for a week to Salen. While there, me and my girlfriend would like to go touring some lovely roads and scenery up north for 4 days or so, camping wherever we are that day.

I'm trying to put together a route or places that we can visit. If you have any suggestions please let me know Smile

Cheers,
Steven

I did a 4 night tour last year - and while this isn't my route map it pretty much mirrors all the routes I covered - all of the road are pretty good up there anyhow. You might struggle to get to the top and back if your staying near fort william though.

Click to see my planned route

I've drawn up a quick route for us to do over 3-4 days, camping wherever we end up. Thoughts?

Kilmarnock, Fort William, Salen, Inverness, Ullapool, Lochinver, Scourie, Durness, Tongue, Dornie, Mallaig then back to Salen for a couple of nights Smile

When you get to Glencoe id recommend you take a right on to the B863 and go the long way round Loch Leven.

The top corner looks like this (on a somewhat murky damp day) https://www.youtube.com/captainvernalequinox#p/u/3/7D-k-YuwRiI

Basically, as long as you stay to the west side, it's all good. Smile

Route looks good. You can't really go wrong with the north west of Scotland. Maybe try and see a bit more of Skye - the Cullins are impressive!
