Mate unless you're a shit rider or you crack under pressure, you should do okay. The first time you failed sounds like misfortune, the second time for a major. Frankly, you shouldn't be getting any 'majors'. If you do its probably because you did something dangerous or seriously wrong and thought it was okay (in which case no complaints about failing) or you've made a mistake (which you can't really stop, you've just got to hope you don't make serious mistakes).
Remember that you can get a maximum of 9 (or poss 10) minors. Over the course of a 30-40 minute ride that means you're making a mistake every 2 - 3 minutes, given that the examiner will miss some. That's about the length of a TV ad break. If you're fit to pass (which I assume you are) then you're not going to make them that often.
Therefore, there's not really a lot to be worrying about (although I do know how hard it is to tell your nerves that).
As regards must do/don't - just ride how you've been taught. I did my training with two different instructors and their overtaking, changing lanes etc processes were different. One wanted two lifesavers, one thought a lifesaver and a mirror were enough. The long and short of it is that unlike a car test, for a bike test the examiner isn't looking for you to tick specific boxes. He just wants to see that you're safe, aware and competent on a bike. However you show him that is up to you.
Good luck fella. ____________________ ... |

I do a mirror checks every 15 seconds, dunno if its good but I haven`t been marked down for any mistakes.
I`m selling my bike because my dad is saying that I am unable to ride a bigger bike because I failed my test so many times.I kept trying to tell him that the lights were green when I started to accelerate and maybe the examiner was looking in the mirror so he maybe saw me going on amber.
Oh also.My bike is VFR400 NC30 J reg,I will be selling it as a project because it needs the rear seat mounting because it has got a R1 seat cowl and seats and it needs painting to match the bike.It has NC35 front and side pannels ,ART 2 Black Exhaust with the standard Pipes,White wheels,40k KM around 25k miles, just fitted the speedometer converter,no mot or tax,Bridgestone BT92 Front and rear tyres with more than 5 mm meat on em.R1 aftermarket undertray, home made number plate and indicators bracket, home made exhaust bracket, polished rearsets,it needs spark plugs because its running lumpy(I know for sure that is because of the plugs),The back its raised so it wont look bad with the R1 seat cowl.Anodized blue foot pegs,33 bhp restrictors not fitted,I`ve got all the old mots,it hasn`t got any tax or mot because I kept it in the garage to be prepared after I pass my test which I keep failing.Sounds wicked, pulls strong. If anyone interested just send me a PM.Thanks |

I was at the traffic lights behind the stop line with the lights green ,there were 2 cars in the middle of the junction they wanted to turn right, there were cars coming from the opposite direction, after few seconds the cars in front of me went to the right.I started on green and after 1 second it turned to amber. If I would`ve stopped that would have been in the middle of the junction on a red light,if I was waiting a bit more at traffic lights it was undue hesitation. So I`m kinda fucked. For people who want to pass their module 2,just calm down,it`s another fucking day with the gps in your ear. Also lifesavers are not as hard as you think.
Well soon you will see my nc30 for sale.Who is interested give me a PM.Thanks |
At the traffic lights he said I went on amber.Which I didn`t.But I have to say maybe it has been a bit of confusion. It was green,I acceleratated, the examiner maybe looked in his mirror and has seen me on amber.Anyway waiting for offers, you can find my bike in project section.
sorry to hear that, but what exactly did you fail on? |

One thing i'd look out for if you're not familiar with the area is to never pull in opposite a junction. This is tricky to remember if a few cars are blocking the entrance to a road so keep it in mind.
I'm sure you will pass soon enough mate, i did without any lessons.
Just keep looking on youtube, websites and try and get a mate with a full license to follow you and point out any bad riding habits you might not realise you have.
Ride safe |
