graphics card help

Im after a new card but i dunno what card will fit my board?


my motherboard is an asus A7N8X-X 5 PCI,1AGP

and my current g card is a radeon x800 pro256mb

How do i find out what other cards will fit my board?

By the sounds of it you have quite an old out-dated mother board that only takes AGP cards, so anything AGP will fit just make sure your power supply unit can handle it aswell (should be labled the wattage on the back) almost all graphics cards now-a-days are pci-e (express).

Simple answer find any graphics card that will fit an AGP slot.

Yes they will fit, like i said check what power supply it needs and make sure you have enough, if it requires 500w and you only have 500w be very carefull because you will be running at max load constantly with it if i remember correctly.

Also best thing to check is the clock speeds on them there could be a 50gb graphics card with a 300mhz clock speed and a 500mb graphics card with 500mhz and the 500mb will work better, clock speeds are everything don't just see a 1gb card and be like oooo lots of memory.

Can anyone recommend a card!?

Its mainly for wow

these are the requirements on the wow website

Minimum: 3D graphics processor with Hardware Transform and Lighting with 32 MB VRAM Such as an ATI Radeon 7200 or NVIDIA GeForce 2 class card or better
Recommended: 3D graphics processor with Vertex and Pixel Shader capability with 128 MB VRAM Such as an ATI Radeon X1600 or NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT class card or better

But my boards agp as above can anyone recommend something?

im presuming i dont really need a hd card either?

yeah i have been playing for ages .

im lucky to see over 15fps, in the newer parts in the latest expansion im lucky to get over 5!

A 6800Gt is a good card I am sure they were models you could buy both AGP and pci-e but finding one new might be a different story.

What processor do you have? It may be cheaper to get a cheap mobo and a mid range ATI card.

This is only £220, you would still need a card but its a good starting point and from what you using now it would last a while.
