Doesn't matter that they share room etc, she should still pay towards.... if you're moving out then cancel the phone/tv licence/internet and take your TV etc, no point aruging about it if you're moving out... but I think you're definetly right that you should be paying less... but as you're moving out there's not much point arguing it now and future flat mates won't be your problem

I almost went into a houseshare where me and GF would have been sharing a room and general opinion we got from people (ourselves included) is that in terms of rent you should both pay less (but not 50% of the room as you still use communal areas) and bills split between all living there equally. I mean, heating the house benifits everyone regardless of what room you have or how many share it.

Sound like she is getting a free ride. Im starting to hate houseshares as they can become such a nightmare having the clean up after people or playing 'the waiting game'.

My GF lives with 1 girl and 5 guys and there all sound people but messy as so saturday morning me and her cleaned 7 peoples worth washing up so she could feel better about living there.

As said, you bang on with what you said but its two weeks I making enemies with people you live with never works out well.

I wouldn't, why should you, you all use the facilities. You should be paying 35% as its also a benefit that she is there but only if she is paying. You have your own room they share so them paying 65% seems right to me.

I've been on the other end of this. My girlfriend moved into a house and I had no where to live at the time. I paid the deposit for the house for all of them and my girlfriends share of the rent. They were skint so I bought them furniture and gas and electric. A takeaway and a crate of lager. I stayed there for a couple of nights helping them move in. I was then told to leave because I wasn't allowed to stay there. Which I thought yeah thats fair does, so I explained to the landlord who returned all my money, took my furniture and me and the girlfriend left and got a house ourselves. They were left in the shit having to pay a deposit and having no Tv or furniture all for the sake of letting me stay there another week or so.

I was in this situation myself there where us and 2 had (effectivly live in partners) live in Partners. I thought live and let live I doesn't that bother because I liked the partners, I couldn't be bothered with the hassle.

Then one of the girls started giving me shit because my laptop is always on and I flipped.

Literally Screamed mentioning the fact, she always has her heating on I never do, she always has her on TV I never did, her boyfriend was staying here most of the week rent and bill free and a few other things. I told her this didn't bother me and the only way I would consider turning my laptop off was if her bloke paid rent and bill and she turned her heating down and she stopping leaving her tv on. To which she said "well if you're going to be like that"

It's never worth being petty with mates, and to be honest she doesn't sound like a real person - so just catagorise her as your mates pet. You wouldn't expect a cat to pay the rent.

I shared for years with a couple of really good mates, we had a blast when we lived together, but after we went our various ways it was a couple of yearw before we wanted to be in the same room again.
