I am considering getting a reusable K & N air filter for my motorcycle. Are these worth getting, or is it best to stick with the disposable type ?

They work out cheaper in the long run as they can be cleaned.
Only thing is they will flow more air than a standard one which will make your bike run leaner - how much of a problem this is depends on which bike you are fitting it to. On some there is no noticable difference in performance/power delivery, others could benefit from a dynojet kit/power commander or similar Thumbs Up

you can buy a foam or fibre air filter oil which is good to use once you have cleaned the air filter, i use one from a company called bell-ray but im pretty sure k&n do the own brand air filter cleaner and oil...

K and N filters can make your bike run lean, especially with an aftermarket exhaust.

Depends if you want to go to the bother of doing a dyno run really I suppose.

You can usually compensate for the leaner running of an aftermarket air filter by raising your needle a clip or two(assuming you are running the carburettors) as it mostly affects the midrange.

If you also have an aftermarket legal pipe you may need to go up one jet size, a few more if its a loud pipe.
