 |
|
Hey
Using my brothers account for this.
I can't seem to find where i could get a tail tidy for my CBR 600F
I have HUGE rear indicators and would like those small dinky ones you get i assume i need a tail tidy for this? But where from?
Cheers

I just used a hacksaw to cut the original under tray/ mud guard. Stuck on a universal plate hanger. Worked well.
You can sort of see here.

So you literally just cut the old one off? How do you attach the new one and where did you get it? ____________________ My Project - Honda CBR 600 F2/FM |

I just cut the mudguard bit off from the under tray, just a straight cut along the top of the mudguard/bottom of the tray. Then I bolted one of these sort of things on.
I can't find any good pics to show more detail of what I mean, but that in the picture is the original under tray, but with the air brake/ mud guard sawn off. ____________________ My Bikes - - - Royal Enfield 500 with sidecar, VFR800, CBR600FX,

I'm not 100% sure what you mean, but I'll have a look tomorrow when I go out .
I also have massive front indicators is that just as simple of buying smaller ones? ____________________ My Project - Honda CBR 600 F2/FM |

No dude, it's just the black metal numberplate hanger bit you get in that auction.
If you look at the under tray, there is a crease just below the seat lock, on the other side you will see that the mudguard joins the under tray here. You just cut along that crease, file it nice and smooth. You want to make sure to leave a small tab to bolt the plate hanger onto without covering the seat lock. Most plate hangers have bits to attach indicators, so you're covered there.
The front ones are simple, just take the old ones off, snip the connectors (blue and orange to differentiate sides) solder them to the new indis, and put the new ones on. You can get cover things to cover up the extra hole (the original indicators use 1 hole for bolt and 1 for wires, but most after market indis use a hollow bolt that the wires run through.) but you really wont notice the hole.
In fact my indis were well away from the original holes lol. ____________________ My Bikes - - - Royal Enfield 500 with sidecar, VFR800, CBR600FX,

Most of the time the wires will be all ready to attach to bullet connections in your loom, unfortunately the cbr has funny little plastic connectors, which you need to address.
You can either cut the connectors off both sets of indis, and join the new indis to the old connectors, or you can cut the connectors off the loom, and install bullet connectors on the loom. Personally I'd cut the indis and swap connectors there.
Here's cheaper indis.
EDIT: just seen these, negates the cutting and joining - THESE AREN'T WHAT YOU NEED they are just an example, you will have to find the right ones yourself ____________________ My Bikes - - - Royal Enfield 500 with sidecar, VFR800, CBR600FX,
