Right, i thought i could rely on the stupid amounts of knowledge this forum seems to have, after a bit of advice regarding a stag do.

I'm not the groom, but the best man and taken on the responsibility of organising the stag do. The only 'requirement' given to me by the groom is that he would really like to go to amsterdam, fair enough i thought.

I have managed to get flights and hotel (for 2 nights) for basically £200 each, that was simply searching on Expedia (it's a weekend in august aswell, so maybe a bit dearer). Thats flying from Leeds/Bradford airport to Schipol.

Ferrys are out of the question as they don't go from hull to amsterdam so flying is the only option really, manchester is do-able but leeds/bradford is preferable.

I can get flights on their own for around £80 each and i was looking at 2 sharing a hotel room (will be 10-12 people).

So if anyone can advise on a cheaper accomodation option (B&B's seem stupidly expensive) and any reccomendations from previous trips to amsterdam would be smashing.

Also, what to do when we are there? The obvious strip club, bit of smokey dokey and then some beer but where are the places to go, places to avoid and any reccomendations on stuff to do when we are there. We will be going on the 6th of august (friday) and coming back the 8th which is a sunday so maybe the lads will enjoy a daytime activity like go-karting, paintballing or something.

To be quite honest with you, i don't have a clue what i'm doing. I'm sure i can rely on BCF for an epic weed fuelled weekend Razz Laughing

Thanks in advance
Matt

Have you tried hostels? If you book early enough you can get a room for just you and your mates!

The second time I went me, GF and few mates rented bicycles (they come with locks) and then just cycled around all day having a bit of a coffee shop crawl (one of the best days ever!!!)

Went to some club in the square and had really good trance with proper dancers (who were very hot!).

Hope you have an amazing time!

The Bulldog Hostel was VERY good.

I know the general Bulldog chain is all tacky and chavvy (bars, coffee shops etc).
BUT, this place was brilliant.
Secure (polite, smiley and well dressed but BIG bastards on the door + door is swipe coded and locked to non residents after 11)
Clean (nice rooms ... simple but funky decor ... and clean with good strong showers).
Nice friendly staff ... and a good bar / pool / whatever area.
They do dorms and multi bed rooms ... dont think they do singles ??
Close to (across one street I think) to the whores and rubber fists.

And it was cheap... cant remember the exact price.. but was so much cheaper than other so called hotels.

Caveat: This was 7 years ago or so... things may have changed.

yeah back packers is where its at, i just had to organise the stag do for my mate, and i booked out a couple of dorm rooms, we hit the piss at the hostel with the other guests, then dressed the groom up, hit the town, got into a fight and generally had a good time,
then wasted the groom at paint ball the next day,
in the end it cost us about $100 each (in nz) for pre booze accom and paint ball,

We aren't just looking to get pissed, i knew that beer was a lot more expensive on the continent (or touristy places anyway). We just want to have a good time and experience the nightlife etc.

Oh and shave a few eye brows of course Laughing

Looked at the Bulldog Hostel in amsterdam and it looks perfect for what we need, extremely cheap compared to B&B's/hotels aswell. They dont accept stag-do's or large groups of males but i emailed them and they said they would be happy to take us provided we don't cause any trouble, just to take copies of the emails incase of any problems at check-in.

So i booked it Very Happy I don't want to screw anything up so i'm keeping my mate (groom) informed of everything (apart from my plans for when we are there) and he seems very happy so can't be bad...as long as he is happy i won't get twatted!

Now to just plan which coffee shops, followed by strip clubs we are going to go in Cool Laughing
