Module 2 On Your Own Bike

Has anyone ever did this? How does it work with insurance etc...?

I did it a couple of weeks ago on my own bike, no problems.. I did mod 1 and mod 2 on my cg. No problems with insurance, i got insured after the cbt and proceeded to do both modules on it. Hope that helps.

yeah you can, but then you're restricted to 33bhp for 2 years

Didn't realise he was talking about a restricted licence. My module 2 is booked and I'll probably be doing on it on my instructors CB500, just wondered what was involved in using your own bike. Probably a tow to the test station which is more bother than its worth really.

im fairly sure that some insurance companys will cover you to take your test on it, but then you still have the problem of getting it to the test centre?

best bet would surely be to do it on your instructors bike?

I Took my MOD2 on my ZZR600, my insurance for the NSR covers me to ride any bike, aslong as it complies with my licence and I’m not the registered owner, as the ZZR was still registered in my dad’s name I called my insurance and they said I’d be covered 3rd party…

Insurance company (A Quote) said that aslong as I had a high viz vest on, and was in radio contact with the instructor / examiner (i.e legally riding the bike) than my insurance covers it.

Might be worth checking if your existing insurance covers you to ride other bikes.
