This is a copy of my previous forum, as i've now learnt how to post the photos easier.

I bought the bike last summer, as a low mileage scruffy bike,
After i got it home i cleaned it, and realised i'd managed to find a brilliant bike.

I started with some basic mods, i only have before and after pics of the first few mods.

Now i've started modding again as the season starts again, i've started to do more mods,
Powdercoating my wheels being the main thing.

Anyway, this is my progress so far.

How i bought the bike

https://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b410/eddie_46/09082009009.jpg

After i took it Spain cleaned it properly and fitted some crash bungs and cleaned the indicator lenses

https://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b410/eddie_46/18092009101.jpg

After i'd fitted my undertray/tailtidy, and a few other bits, the bike then stayed like this for a while

https://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b410/eddie_46/My%20pride%20and%20joy/27102009119.jpg

https://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b410/eddie_46/My%20pride%20and%20joy/27102009117.jpg

Then i moved back to England, and decided to start changing bits and modding again ready for the season

How it looked when i got it home, before i started the mod's

Got the bike on the paddock stands, and whipped the wheels off

Prep started for powdercoating, if anybody is thinking about powdercoating, spend the extra £15 and have them shot blasted, the finish in the end will be much better, and a lot less hardwork

I've also changed the front indis for some micro ones, i'll post some pics shortly.

I've got a J1 and that same front paddock stand, but not sure if I have the balls to take the front wheel off like that! How sturdy/safe is it? do you tie the front end up some how just in case it fell?

I was very cautious at first myself, but with the rear paddock stand it was very sturdy, if the stand catches at the two small pins behind the shocks as in the photo of mine, its should be fine. I didn't tie mine at all, and it was on the stands for over a week with no problems, i even sat on the bike with the wheels off.

Ive attached a photo off where my stand caught the bike

Yeh mine sits sort of under the back of the fork, with the other part under that piece you have circled.

Not sure about sitting on it though!

I don't know about the grab handles, they dont offend me, and tbh i think the bike would look to naked without them.
Plus they're ocasionaly used for what they are intended lol

One sure fire way I have always used to bleed brakes is as follows:

Place a ring spanner on the bleed nipple, place some small tubing onto the nipple running down to a {insert type of container here} (I use a coke can with top chopped off or milk bottle)

Put some fluid in your container and make sure the tubing is emersed in it.

Fill your fluid reservoir to the top.

Apply pressure slowly to the brake lever and slowly slacken off the bleed nipple, when the lever is fully compressed tighten the nipple and let go.

Repeat, constantly keeping the reservoir above the max line.

Generally, within no time you will have a nice solid brake.

You can do this without emersing the pipe really, as your ensuring no air can be drawn in by closing the nipple before you release the lever, but its somewhere for the fluid to go and if you do accidentally leave go of the lever before you close the nipple its only going to draw fluid in not air.

As said its never failed me, even with a completely dry system (lines replaced etc).

Well i finally got around to bleeding the front brakes, it wasn't as bad i thought. Took less than an hour.
I think i'll bleed them again though, to get all the fluid through so im sure there are no air locks.

Pics to follow shortly.

Thanks pal! i love it.
I got my undertray off ebay, it was new and painted, but not listed corectly and it cost me 99p Thumbs Up
But if you google....ermax you should be able to find the same undertray.

It was more effort to fit than the larger ones as i had to cut the numberplate thingy rite off. But with a dremel, i took just over an hour. Well worth the effort. And i think it looks better than other undertrays you can buy. theres some on eBay that come with the tail light intergrated Thumbs Up

Get some pics of your bike up matey!!

Just a quick update,
The bike is currently off road =( gutted with the lovely weather we're having, but the alarm has let me down for the second time, and is being fixed under warranty. Personally i don't recommend the accumen cat 1.1 alarm as mine has broke twice!!!!

My new levers arrived in the post the other morning, so i fitted them, very pleased with them. quality and price as brilliant.

I also bought a set of used lsl rear sets for £85, they are now fitted, and i love them, they make the bike feel 10x's different, in a better way for me. I feel more in control of the bike now, maybe its just because im 6ft 4" and i can get me legs further back i don't know but i love them.

Anyway, as soon as i get the bike back i'll post some more pic's Very Happy

Ta'ra for now lol.
